If you donate it to the library's summer reading club, they can buy prizes for all the children who participate and use them for reading incentives. I know the summer is a long way off, so you can either wait or inquire about possible upcoming winter reading club sponsorships.

You can do lots! Donate it to a food bank or homeless shelter. Give it to United Way or to a Church.

Do you have any favorite groups you would like to help? For me, if I had $500 to make a donation with, I would give it to the local no-kill animal shelter.
