atheists why do we focus so much on christianity and all its flaws and fallacies? why dont we focus on other religions like buddhism and hinduism?

and christians, why do you focus so much on atheists? why not focus on others like hindus who are already believers of a different god or gods? all you have to do is convince them they're worshipping the wrong ones right?

So why dont we give eachother a break and bash someone else for a change?

I get the feeling you're going to get alot of "well we bash all religions equally" from the atheists and "we're the victims of the atheists and we're just defending ourselves" from the christians.

Both are crap arguements in my opinion, but whatever floats your boat.

I'll tell ya why, because even though the popular misconception is that hinduism and buddhism are religions they are actually non-religious way of lifes and there beliefs are based on science, although there is something to criticise about them, there isn't much to disagree with cos its based on science. How I know about the hinduism bit is because my background is hindu, although i dont see myself as 1, I see myself as an atheist.

As for the buddhism bit, they are devoted to a real life human being called Buddha, NO GOD. Which makes buddhism based on atheism, you gotta give them credit for that.

Hindus believe in God in a different way to Christians. Christians believe God as a being where as Hindus believe God not as a being but as a field, Hindus see God and Nature as one, something you can't see but they believe it exists. As for the different Gods, there arent really different Gods, its just the one God and all facets of its goodness are divided into different gods, they are all different incarnations of the one God.

I reckon hindus would have a better argument than the christians after typing out the above para.

Islam has alot of flaws, more than u can poke a stick at i guess. Their women oppression ways are fuc king sick!, even some muslim women feel that oppression and you can see the unhappiness, they envy western women.

I can't speak for the christians, but I will say this:

As an American atheist, the group I have most reason to fear is the conservative, religious right, who want to "bring this nation back to christ". Basically what that means is that in their minds, there is no place in America for someone like me. These are the people who want to teach "intelligent design" in public high school. Let's be honest, to a christian fundamentalist group, an intelligent, outspoken atheist is a real threat.

Therefore, if I feel the need to push back a little, and try to get some elbow room, the group I am going to go after is the christians. It is only reasonable, if I want my children to be able to grow up without being brainwashed.

Now, I know that not all christians are like the fundamentalists out there. To these more reasonable deists, I can only say that your god warned you there would be people like me to test your faith.

"atheists why do we focus so much on christianity and all its flaws and fallacies? why dont we focus on other religions like buddhism and hinduism?"

I've never seen a Buddhist or Hindu come here to lie about atheists. It's the same reason I don't call the police when I see someone obeying the law.

Its like this . Christians focus on atheists because they seem to be the most plentiful non-Christian at R&S. I have no problem witnessing to buddhists, hindus, muslims or any other false religion. Seems that Atheists are the most prevelent here..

Atheists concentrate on beating up on Christians to validate their unbelief so that they will not feel guilty about their sin and can continue therein. Also you dont see Hindu's , or Buddhists trying to convert atheists on R&S so we Christians are the main target . Once in a while you do see muslims trying to convert but not to often. They cant get a sword to your throat online.. lol

christianity has a history of focusing on the segment of the population that it's currently loosing against..... they did it to the pagans, witches, agnostics and scientists... but nature comes full circle... originally pagan meant having no religion and serving no god... that is what an athiest is today the true neo pagan....

Also christians are looking to group athiest, like organize them in a religion... so they can discredit them.. that is why there is an obsession with associating the atheists with evolution.... not all atheist are scientist, but christians make it sound as though to be exempt from religion one must know and explain in detail the origins of the universe.

*Atheists bash Christianity because Christianity is the predominant religion in the western world and seems bent on legislating its brand of morality.

*Christians bash atheists because at least those other people believe in "something", as opposed to atheists who believe in "nothing." If they start bashing other believers, then they couldn't demand respect for their own religion without being hypocritical.

Both sides add fuel to the fire.

I think we are attracted to each other because we are so opposite. I think we intrigue each other and REALLY want to know what makes the other tick. We (christians) have a hard time believing you don't believe and visa versa. Christians are outspoken and so are atheists so we have a tendency to pick on each other. Does that make sense?

Why focus on and bash anyone?
Just realize no one religion or non understands the other.
So skip this category and just go to polls and surveys.
