When im reading at times i dont feel like im getting anything out of it.....like something jumps out at me. Does that mean im not being fed the word? Or will something latter on come back to my remembrance? Do most believers read thier bible first thing in the morning? Im asking because im not sure if god wants me to read and pray first thing in the morning..or if it doesn't really matter as long as its being done daily? and also when you first became saved did god make alot of changes in your life that were painful? and does that painful change continue to happen all thru out your walk? And also ....Some people believe that god can heal them and others look at healing from a practical stand point... if my faith believes that GOD can miraculously heal me...then that will be done right? Or do i need to be practical like alot of christians seem to be? Because in the bible god touched ppl and healed them.... i believe he can do that to me. Honestly.. i believe that.

Please feel free to email me with any and all questions. I can give you much more personal, better explained answers.

Yes, God will make some changes in your life and some will be painful. We are continually tested throughout life to refine our faith. It's hard, because the world is telling us we should live one way while God is telling us to live another.

Healing- God does heal, and He does heal miraculously. Keep in mind, though, that God gave us the gift of modern medicine, and many are healed through that.

Your devotions are unique to you, and only you know when you should be doing it. If you feel you are more awake at the end of the day, do them then. If you like getting up a little earlier and starting the day off with reading, do it that way. he Bible tells us to pray without ceasing, meaning that Jesus should be on our mind all day long, not just once during the day.

Again, please email with any questions or thoughts you need to share.

I can only tell you what I do. That doesn't mean it's right for everybody. I read my bible every morning. I've been doing that for several years now. I read it cover to cover, a few chapters at a time. Sometimes nothing clicks and sometimes it does. Sometimes things do come to mind that I may have read several weeks or even months ago that didn't make an impression at the time but really make sense when compared to another part of the bible. I also study based on subjects using a glossary. That way I can compare several verses that are talking about the same subject.

The bible says that "by beholding we become changed." Sometimes those changes are easy and painless and sometimes those changes are difficult and painful. God has promised not to give us more then we can handle so even in the worst of times, I take him at his word.

When it comes to healing of illness, I believe we have to use what God has provided for us through the medical profession and then leave the rest up to him. He never promised we would not get sick or die in this lifetime. Our hope is in the life to come.

Be careful not to make a law unto yourself. Prayerfully choose a time for reading and spending time with the Lord that will work for you. If it does not work for you, what is the benefit?

Many changes are a process. God does things at the proper time they need to be done. Even the apostle Peter had changes taking place after he was in full fledged apostolic ministry (he had a problem ministering to gentiles and God had to deal with him).

God does do miraculous changes in people, but most often, He puts us through a process. I have been saved for over 31 years and there were some changes which took place within days of my salvation and others took years and others yet are still going through the process. This keeps me dependant upon God and humble. If you remember, the apostle Paul had a "thorn in his side" which the Lord would not remove.

God is sovereign. He will heal when He will. He is not there for us to demand healing from Him, but when He is ready to heal, he lets us know and we should pray thusly.

There are times we do not "get something" from the Bible. But, that does not excuse us from reading. Just like any other instance, God speaks when He will and when He has something to say to us. It is our duty to press in and seek Him, waiting for His voice.

Keep seeking. Keep reading. Keep listening.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight. (Prov. 3:5-6)"

I am a Chrristian and I understand where your coming from when you say it just doesn't jump out at you. When that happens I have noticed that it is when I have unrepented sin. Search your heart and see if you have sin that you have not asked God to forgive. I am not sure about the painful changes. I didn't go through alot of pain but I did go through some. But you can't compare your walk with Christ to others because everyone is different. Do you have a realationship with Christ and do you follow Him daily? I believe that God can heal anyone. But are you right with Him? In the end it is God's choice just lean on Him. God bless and remeber that someone is always praying for you.

I don't read the Bible in the morning because my brain doesn't wake up until 10 am...lol. I don't even read it every day. But everytime I do it, I get something new from it.

I have been in a Biblestudy group for 4 years now. I suggest to start with the Book of John. Then read Genesis and Revelations. The Old Testament conceals the Messiah and the New Testament reveals Him. A deep study of Genesis and Revelation will show you the beginning and the end. Then you can go from there and fill in the middle.

Feel free to email me if you have questions. I'd be happy to see if I can help. I'm not a scholar or theologist. Just a woman that returned to God 5 yrs ago and loves to learn more as life goes on. Peace and blessings!

The power of faith can be very impressing sometimes when you think, if God can heal you and you always have that in your mind set, that you indeed will be healed. Doubting God can also mean doubting yourself.
Also, it's your own personal choice on whether to read or pray. God will not force you to do these things, nor will he be mad. The bible is just a guide. A book full of moral stories used to help us in out every day life and situations. Not most of which is to be taken literally.

Well let me say that when I came out of mormonism, wicca and then atheisim, I reread the bible and then I got rhemas:
By contrast, the Logos (λόγος), is typically used in Scripture to refer to what God has said to His people, that is, the collection of God's sayings about Himself, His relationship with His creation and His Church. The Logos of God is true for all time and in all places. It is easy to see how this can be interpreted both as the bible (God's Word Written) and in the Person of Jesus Christ (God's Word in the Flesh) as seen in John's Gospel, Chapter 1.
The Holy Spirit often uses passages in the Logos of God to create specific guidance, Rhema, for the individual. An example of the Rhema of God is to consider how several different people can read the same passage of Scripture and each sees something different. This occurs because each person is in a different place spiritually in their individual lives so God's word to each of them in that moment of their lives is different - specific to their needs. The Logos (God's original meaning and intention) has not changed, but the Holy Spirit has used it to speak to each according to his or her needs.
First thing in the morning is best, I have heard, When I was first saved, I had been deoressed for years and then my need to kill myself left. I have seen others healed, but not everyone gets healed. You could try www.theophostic.com
this is another form of healing/theraphy as well. No more pills, no more pain, just healing. God didn't make alot of changes in my life, I think because i was TOO dysfunctional, he needed to move slow with me, or I would loose it. People have differant walks with God, some move fast. some move slow.

You can pray anytime anywhere you want. There is no set time to pray and worship. There is no set time to read the bible.Read the bible anytime anywhere you want.It doesn't matter when or where, God hears your prayers.Pray before you read.Ask God to prepare you heart and mind for his word.I promise you are doing fine.Just because someone got saved doesn't mean the rest of your life is going to be a bed of roses. All of us will have many trials in our lives, even some tragic,God will not ever give one of his children more they can handle. One doesn't just get saved. They are being saved!!Never give up or throw in the towel.Pray to God for wisdom and discernment. He'll take care of the little stuff, and the big if it's in his will.

When I first got saved I would read and read my bible, but nothing would stick, I couldn't remember what I read. It didn't touch my soul and change my life. I was so frustrated. But then I heard a preacher state that when we live for God, God wants us to have everything we need to serve him, and if we lack something that we want or need then all we have to do is ask God and he will give us what we need to live for him.
I was like "WOW!" OK, so I don't have to do it alone, I can ask God for insight when I read his word, I can ask God to help me understand what I am reading, I can ask God to open my eyes and mind and heart when I read.
So I did! I prayed!
I quit trying to read chapter after chapter every day, and trying to 'remember' every single word, but just kind of broke it down to a few verses at a time, every day, and then after I would read a few verses I would sit and ponder on what I read and what it meant to me personally.
It was like a light being turned on in a dark room! I understood!
Now I can read more and more every day and ponder and understand more at one time.
Oh by the way, it does not matter what time of day you read the Bible, just that you do every day.

It's true that God can heal miraculously and you should seek that out but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't talk to a doctor. I think you need to talk about your problems with a doctor and if that doesn't help, try to contact Bob Larson Ministries [just google it]. God bless you.
