Yup, Yahoo! still categorizes this question as Religion and Spirituality.

And I was so hoping for 'Cats'.

Suppose I should ask a question here, so: How many times would you say you went to church after you stopped believing? I'd say 150 for myself (until I got out of the parents' house).

Whoops, I totally forgot: I worked cleaning a church after Sunday and Wednesday services for close to a year. That brings that up to 250.

Thousands.

But it was Unitarian Church, so it was okay.

Let's see. I probably stopped believing around the age of 13 (actually it was probably much earlier than that, but formally speaking I'll say 13, because that's when I could list other things that DID describe my beliefs). I was still regularly dragged to church until my parents got lazy themselves about going when I was 16 or 17. So...let's just say 3 years (though it feels much, much longer than that) times 52 weeks...156.

Add to this the dozen or so liturgies in Catholic school, the dozen or so weddings and funerals, and I'd say about 180.

I quit going the moment I became an Atheist at age sixteen. It gave my mom a fit. She drove me to church the following Sunday and tried to make me go in but I set on the front steps and refused to budge. Finally she gave up and took me home. I had been going twice a week to church services and bible study for eleven years and it just had me completely worn out. I begin to see things the way they truly were. When I was invited to spend a few days with a friends Atheist family I realized I was an Atheist and that was it for me.

How are things on Fleet Street?

I had long stopped going. I mean I thought it was BS from an early age but I never acknowledged that I didn't believe for quite some time. I tried to be an "I don't care" agnostic for quite a while. I guess it's a gray area.

Only for weddings or funerals and I don't have a count on that but it's been 23 years since I walked away so I'm sure the number is up there a bit.

I think they should include the term ideology in the title of this section.

I never went to church as a child. My mother is an Atheist and my father is an Agnostic Theist

Once when my mother asked me to for her mothers day present. Let's just say it wasn't a fun experience. They had this part in the service where people could go up and open up to god or some c**p like that and when it came to it they all turned and looked at me!

Other than that i go for weddings and funerals.

I never started believing so the number is exactly the same as the number of times I've been to church.

I always had questions so I was never a firm believer... From the time that I really began questioning and doing research probably a couple hundred times..

I still attend occasionally at the request of family members who are celebrating something special to them... I support my family in their choices and attend their special events in support of them... In return they only invite me to special events...

I went once for a funeral.

Next time I get dragged into a church, I'm going in a pine box escorted by four of my closest friends.
