Hi, im an 18 year old from Canada and just got back from the dentist. I have dental insurance, and the dentist said i will need to get my wisdom teeth removed ASAP because 2 are impacted but the other 2 are not, my question is... Will the removal of my wisdom teeth be covered by the insurance? or is it considered cosmetic surgury? Cosmetic surgury isnt covered under our plan. (i have a chipped tooth from hockey, it is not covered by the plan.)

thanks for your time.

It depends on the type of insurance you have. Most insurances will cover all of the expenses. Might want to get that checked out before-hand.

Good luck

a great style of the time you may ask the receptionist on the oral generic practitioner's place of work or dentist's place of work (whoever is going to do the extractions) to place up a predetermination to your coverage enterprise. this might the two be e-filed (electronically filed) or now and returned must be mailed to your coverage co. finding on how briskly your coverage responds (may be as low as some days as much as 4-6 weeks). If I have been you, and did no longer elect all 4 taken out at one time, i might get the left facet accomplished first, (top and decrease) and then get the best facet accomplished. to make it easier to be attentive to the actuality nonetheless, it somewhat is probably ultimate accomplished all at one time considering which you will possibly no longer elect to circulate by using it two times. anybody is diverse. some human beings have not any issues and no soreness and a few human beings have each little thing circulate incorrect with dry sockets and a great style of soreness.

Insurance should totally cover it. It's not cosmetic at all. It's oral surgery and a big deal.
