In my eyes the best stockcar driver of all time was also the roughest driver I've ever seen!
Would Nascar be able to control his aggressiveness?
Please try to think back and remember exactly how he raced!
I do! He would move whoever was in his way in whatever manner it took in order to advance his position or get a win!
He was great!!!
There were a lot of older drivers that I don't think would fit in todays Nascar!

JH50, the older drivers didn't race for multi-car teams. There was no " I'll be nice to you if you're nice to me and then we'll have coffee at the team meeting". They wouldn't fit in today because the purse strings are now controlled by sponsors. That's why the short track races are now limited. That's why the super speedways races are more prevalent. That's why there is a Car of Tomorrow. The sponsors want the cars to go around the track in single file, undamaged, unmarred paint jobs, so the sponsor's names are clearly visible. It's just not the way racing was because of the almighty dollar. That's what contracts, agents and lawyers do for any sport.

This makes me think of an analogy that Larry McReynolds gave once when he was talking about Earnhardt and NASCAR, he said something like 'say you have this puppy, and you let the puppy crap in the house all the time, and then two years later, you try to punish it for crapping in the house, the dog will not know what it did wrong...' I thought this was funny because it showed that NASCAR didn't know how to handle him back when he was in his prime, and they sure as heck wouldn't know how to handle him now. As mentioned before, they cracked down a lot on rough driving after he died.

Remember Sundays race? Jimmy closed in on Kenseth at the end, and they battled side by side for the lead for several laps. What do you think would have happened if Dale Sr was in Jimmy's spot? Would we have seen a side by side battle? Heck no, we would have seen Kenseth spin out. I'd rather see a side by side battle.

I really wasn`t a Big Dale Sr. fan but the other drivers didn`t dictate to him NOR did NASCAR- they wouldn`t handle him
They would Negotiate with in my opinion if he and Childress
said they were mad and wouldn`t race the next race there wouldn`t be but 42 people in the grandstands next week
I don`t like to say this BUT HE WAS NASCAR.
one more thing he was one of the VERY few that would sign
your cap bill if there was no TV. Cameras on him

NASCAR wouldn't have to handle him, because he'd either be running DEI...in the announce booth, or even both.

Dale Sr. had 1-2 seasons max left in him before he would have retired. It's not disrespect toward the man, it's a fact.

Yes, he was the greatest, his roughness was what most people enjoyed about him..I wanna win get out of my way attitude..All that changed the day he died.. If they would have had the safety features implemented after he died, he would be alive today.. He would not like the COT, he would definitely not like this car at all.. It would have been so cool seeing how he would have raced Juan Pablo..It would be great to see him out there today, but he would have retired before now and would be running DEI.. I think Nascar is just to Hollywood or has to many pretty boys for him, with the don't bump me attitude. I just do not think today's Nascar would tolerate this they would come up with major penalties and fines for his driving... Nope, they can't handle the good ole school way of racing....I sure miss it.. R.I.P great one..

Go Dale Jr...win PIR

The Intimidator would be just fine today. I think he could actually have stopped a lot of the stupid stuff that is going on in Nascar today. Bill France Jr listened to a lot of the things that he had to say, maybe he would be running Nascar today if he was still around. Things would be a lot better !

I think the changes or restrictions would have been much more gradual if Sr. was still racing. They did a quick change in attitude after his death and suddenly became more strict on acceptable aggressiveness. This would not have happened had he lived. They would have slowly tried to enforce some rules and make gradual changes. I think we would be seeing a more "old school" type of driving even today.

His belongings replace into dealt with in step along with his Will. I infer, if he replace into nevertheless alive a Codicil may be so as giving one hundred% of DEI to Junior to run. individually, i might have set up one extensive Revocable have faith if I have been him and had a pour over will leaving each and all the Revocable have faith and then in the Revocable have faith has little Trusts set up for each and all the youngsters and positioned DEI in have faith for Dale Jr, with Dale Jr and Kelly as Trustees. nonetheless spousal election (might desire to be taken) finding on the State for Theresa (specific %) i might have left her a definite % of the Residuary belongings (what's left over regardless of each little thing bequests are filled) and positioned that % of the Residuary belongings in a Spousal have faith for her with Teresa and somebody's else via fact the Trustee. wish that facilitates on the valuables ingredient of your question... Then..I believe ninety six% of what Nitro reported.

Well to be perfectly honest he would be What 57? years old. His last few years of racing he only won about 3 or 4 races so I dont believe if he were still alive and driving today he wouldnt be much of a factor. The rules being what they are if Sr. was alive and driving still the same way he did He would be getting a lot of warnings and penalties for it!!!!!
