I'm nonreligious I don't believe in prayer, and I will admit that prayer requests technically go against the rules here. But I can say that prayer requests have never bothered me at all. Even though they technically don't belong here, I still don't think they should be reported, because they don't really detract from anything and most of the time they have good intentions. I can also tell you from experience that the thing that ALWAYS kills an Internet community is when people take the rules TOO seriously. Rules are important, but that doesn't mean you should necessarily report every single thing that doesn't meet this narrow definition of what an acceptable question is.
I think a lot of my nonreligious friends on here will disagree with me on this, but that's OK. I just think we should be focusing on people who are actually abusing the system, and I don't see what harm prayer requests really do to this site.

I think prayer requests are considered a type of solicitation and also a type of chatting, which are both against Y!A community guidelines. It is a free country, but if you're going to participate on Yahoo!'s site, then you aught to at least try to play by their rules. After all, you did agree to follow their guidelines when you signed up. The most mature thing to do in this situation would be to follow through with that agreement, or you could choose to go to some other site whose rules you are willing to follow.

To "Eliminate" the "Chat" aspect it needs to be in the form of a Question. So U might for Example ask: "Would / Do U Think God (would) Answer my "Petition" for Healing of my "Big Toe" if Everyone Here also Joined Me??? Please??? Thank U for helping in this Matter!!!
On the "Other Side", once Answered one might say: "In regards to my Question about the "Big Toe" Petition, this is what happened as a result; the Pimple Popped & is all better. Is this how God Normally Works"???
Both are R&S Questions! Have Fun with it! John

Just don't say anything offensive and make it a question: will you pray for...? Check the rules again though, I don't think that it's a violation. You decide what prayer is worth for you and what you are willing to do to get it. I pray when I see a request. Violation or not, some things are worth it. Do what you see fit. Good luck.

There has never been any data that God is answering prayers. issues ensue after prayers and human beings call them "solutions". in the event that they do no longer pray and the comparable component surpassed off they do no longer call them "solutions" via fact they did no longer pray. If solid issues ensue they remember those activities and that they forget the situations while they have been given undesirable outcomes from their prayers. so they have a bias that prayers are efficient. Prayers have never been shown to be triumphant on the final. Prayer makes human beings think of they are influencing God to furnish their particular interest. It inflates their egos to think of their prayers are being "responded". human beings elect to experience significant. they do no longer see that prayer is ineffectual and impotent habit. even nonetheless it fools them into feeling extra suitable. so they proceed to choose. there is likewise a ritualistic component of prayer. it somewhat is something human beings do while there isn't any longer something they are able to do. it somewhat is a desparate attempt to declare magic words and incluence the destiny by using rituals.

IN MATT I8:I9 God Says: "If TWO People will Agree upon ONE Subject....It SHALL BE DONE! Prayer can change someone's LIFE! But in this Day and TIME, It seems NOT MANY CARE OR BELIEVE IN PRAYER.
"IT'S A SAD DAY WHEN YOU HAVE TO ASK PERMISSION TO FIND SOMEONE TO PRAY FOR YOU." THE WORLD IS TRULY GOING TO HELL IN A HAND-BASKET!!

No, its not a question.
That being said, I've never reported anybody. Snarky sarcasm yes, but reporting, no.
Why do people think that asking strangers on the internet to pray to a fictional deity is going to work any better than doing it yourself?
God only has 3 answers to prayer...even Xian preachers acknowledge this....Yes...NO....Wait. That's it. His entire repertoire. And you know what, I get the same response from praying to a brick.

No, because you are not asking a question that you need an answer to. It would be like posting a "question" asking people to send you money, in a way.
