The military in the US has traditionally been socialized. Do you feel this is better then a privatized system, or that making a privatized army is better?
Like right now, the US has thousands of mercenaries who they have hired in Iraq (Blackwater) which is a direction in privatizing.

Hey, I just wanted opinions on a socialized vs privatized military. Not need to attack me.
Thank you for those of you who actually gave insight to the question.

Sorry, but the problem there is that mercs fight for pay, which means they may switch sides if someone else pays them more. Do you really want to entrust your country's defence to an Army which may go over to the enemy for better pay? If so you are even more of a fool than your question indicates!

Blackwater is not part of the military, we do have the best military, but even the best needs help sometimes.

Blackwater's existence and use by our government is an insult to all who've served in the US Military and all who are presently serving.
Blackwater is used so that corners can be cut, torture carried out and illegal missions more easily completed.
Blackwater is a disgrace to our nation.

Our military is the most highly trained, highly equipped and highly motivated military force on the planet; our system of voluntary service has worked effectively and I see absolutely no reason to change it.

the thousands of mercenaries that you refer to are mostly support people there, on combat related, and those that are combat related are there becuase the job is to large for our military to handle alone. Our system is just fine thanks!

Do you even have a clue what you are talking about or just what you read from others who haven't got a clue.
