As if children under 18 don't already see R-Rated movies. If a movie about God is under the standards of r ratings, then yes it should. If not then no.
By the way, the treatment of women, slavery, and torture was common practice in biblical times, all the way up to the 19th century. In some cases the 20th and 21st century. The incidents were apart of society for believers and non-believers. The bible gave people at that time rules on how to treat slaves and women. Yes some of them were backwards, but in that time they were probably not thought of that way.

If they make a movie about it yes it should be r-rated. The bible just says it happened and doesn't go into the gruesome detail like "guts spilled out on the floor and blood gushed everywhere" so not as bad.

No, there's no rule that says you must be 18 to read it, so that means you can. Just think if there was, you'd have to wait 5 years.

If your talking about The Passion, it was given an R rating for "graphic violence". Jesus' brutal beating was....brutal and veryyyy graphic, I didn't even watch some parts.
And since when do you have to be 18 to read the Bible?
hope this helps =]

I remember as a child I would read Deuteronomy for the sex. "Fornication" seemed so interesting.
I also like Poe's 'Rape of Lucrice' for the sex.
