To run PowerPoint presentations, you have to download the Power Point Viewer from Microsoft (it's free).

I don't have PowerPoint on my computer either. Once I got the Viewer, I was able to open the PowerPoint files.

MS Word will not work. It will open the file as text - which does you no good.

No, WORD will not open a ppt file. Microsoft does distribute a free Powerpoint reader IIRC which you can likely find on the web.

Alternatly, you might download some of the free Office software suites. They too can open many ppt files.

IBM offers a free software program called Lotus Symphony Presentations.
MS Word won't open/read a PowerPoint file.

Go to the Microsoft site and download the PowerPoint Viewer. It's free. You can view a presentation, but not edit it.

I don't think you can view it without PowerPoint software. Go on Google and type in something along the lines of "Free PowerPoint Viewer Download" or click on this link.

I hope this helps!

Many times, people send ppt. files that open because they are saved in order to view as a show. Did you try to open it? You can download PowerPoint viewer for free... only takes a couple of minutes, or a trial (free) of PowerPoint at http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/downloads/CD010225331033.aspx .

Actually yes, there is a a program called Power Point Viewer. Now If you wanted to edit power point and work with power point you need the power point client but if you just want to open a power point and do nothing but view it then here.
