wow- this is one that a lot of people (including myself..) have found themselfs asking at some point in their lives..

Weigh all of your options.. ask people about different religions, ask people what their beliefes are and do your own research- read a bible, study and find the things you may question. In the end- you will have to make the ultimate call.

I do not beleive there is a right or wrong answer.

The question is this: If you were diagnosed with cancer, but it was treatable with chemotherapy, would you reject the treatment just because it has some unpleasant side-effects? I hope not. People today are led to believe that religion is an easy way out for wishful thinkers, or that it should all be cheerful lights and warm feelings. But that's not where real religion originates. Real religion comes from going through the worst things that can happen to a person and finding out you're really not alone, that God does make a real difference, especially in those frozen moments of inexpressible grief that ordinary life periodically brings. Trust me friend, these high-sounding dis-believers will themselves one day get tired of being the smartest person in the room, and will yearn for that "something more" which can only be found in the heart of God. Don't settle for less.

Why don't you give God a chance? How do you know Religion is not for you if you haven't tried it?
If you'd like, you can take a Bible and read it in the privacy of your home. This will help you see the immensity of God's love for you. The meaning of Jesus' sacrifice on the cross. And the promise of eternity.
God will not force you to accept Him into your heart. But He will wait patiently for you to have a change of heart.
The path with God always leads to salvation. Without Him, we are like a child who lets go of his father's hand, lost.

I hope and pray you choose wisely

There is a differace between God and religion. I would reccomend that you check out Lee Strobels book The Case for Faith. He answers the big 8 questions that people have that either keep the from beleiving or impede their faith.

Keep asking questions.

In my days of spiritual seeking I've been a Lutheran, Pentacostal, New Ager, an Eastern religions advocate, a confirmed and baptized Catholic, and pagan/wiccan. The end of my path was as an atheist/humanist, and I can tell you I'm now the happiest and most fulfilled I've ever been. No more nagging doubts!

So yes, it's perfectly possible it's not for you either. And yes, that's okay.

You don't have to be a striaght laced bible-thumping peace of crazy, but you should still think of the Bible as a guide not to live by, but to give insight on your own personal relationship with the Lord. And if it isn't for you, many other faiths believe in the same values as the Bible, but just have different rules to live by.

Religion is something personal, nothing can tell you what to do or make a choice for you. But you can ask others for informations about religions
