referring to unmarried women as "public property". They say since there are more women, it's better for them to share a husband than to become "public property".
What? and Why? How is a woman public property if she is unmarried? Being single is not a crime and nothing to be ashamed of and certainly doesn't make one a piece of property.
Please explain what this means and how this conclusion has been reached.
Thanks.

Please do a search on Yahoo. Put in public property or polygamy. This has come up a few times. I saw it in a question recently, which I will find and post and that made me search.

Polygamy is better or making women public property?
Women are more than male in number in this world. We muslims manage it through polygamy. Exess in number women becomes either public property or I have seen movies in which they put women before dogs and horses to shaft tender part.

This is the question I originally saw:

Search for "women become public property" and 37 results were found...most of them seem to be pertaining to Islam.
Why would I make this up?
