ok i know people do have attention disorders

but dont u think its very easy for a doctor to say hes got adhd or something and stick a kid on medication than to investigate whats really wrong

this is what r.d.laing was on about which leads me into anti-psychiatry which come close to scientology, however scentologists are crazy and take laings views to an extreme much like hitler with neitzche

ADD/ADHD was never heard of when I was growing up. That is not to say the symptoms were not present in children (and adults) but such behavior was just considered being a "bad or unmanageable kid". It was often corrected using a "hickory stick or a willow switch" applied to their backsides.

It is likely it is due to bad parenting in particular allowing kids to be raised "by a television set" instead of having set household duties and chores to stick to. I think it is significant that its recognition as a designation for a disorder came into use at nearly the same time as TV came into use.

One can not blame psychiatrists for using it as a diagnosis as parents bring their children into them complaining something is wrong and the DSM-IV TR criteria is what is currently available and recommended by the profession for diagnosis. A good diagnosis requires some extended study and time with the child.

Good luck with your ADHD diagnosis or ADHD child, good mental health, peace and Love!

i guess, i mean my parents had me professionally tested, so i wouldnt know if doctors just do that. i think a doctor would be reluctant to give out stimulants especially without investigation
