No, have you seen Jesus Camp? It's one of the scariest things I've ever seen. I think in an atheist camp, they'd learn more constructive things, like spelling and grammar.

We've heard from space camp and science camp and even tennis camp, but no computer camp yet? I vote for computer camp, since computers are necessary for advancing knowledge and throwing off useless mythology.

So yeah, I'd send my kid to a camp to learn about science or technology or even to learn about surviving in the woods. Those camps are not bad, either.

The last thing I'm ever going to do, however, is send my kid somewhere where a preacher can assume total control over the kid, force the kid to cry about how sinful he or she is, and then tell the kid how to live a 'moral' life. All those things are common at bible camps (and I know because I went to a few). A good camp is a chance for the kid to learn to think like an individual, not like a sheeple.

Sure.

Science camp would be great.

There is space camp where kids get to learn about the universe and current technology having to do with space travel.

Well I'm Christian and there is no way I would send my kids to bible camp. At least not the type you are referring to.

what would kids do there? They'd do anything they would do at any summer camp, but no praying, no religious services etc.

When I was 10, my parents sent me to a Catholic Camp for two weeks. We were supposed to swim, hike, canoe, etc, in addition to pray, go to services, serve god, etc. I was a gay kid, hormones raging and all those naked Catholic kids and counselors caused me more sinful thinking than if they had left me at home!

No. These kinds of camps are design to indoctrinate (brainwash) young minds into their folds. I give my children all perspectives...so that eventually then can make educated decisions that are best for them.

There is no "bible camp" equivalent.

Many people send their kids to CAMP...period.

Some prefer to send their kids to a religious environment, some not.

Ever see the movie "Jesus Camp"? That movie haunted me in my dreams for days. I would never inflict that kind of damage on my children.
