The female come to the male. You do not take the male to the female.

The female is brought to the male. If you deal with a reputable breeder, that person will know the procedure. If not, you should not breed. Also remember that you will not get only one puppy. You will get an entire litter that you must find homes for while hundreds of thousands of dogs are killed because there are not enough homes for them all.

I won't comment on whether I think it's right or wrong. If you're set on doing the breeding it would be much less stressful on the female if you bring the male to her. That way she gets to stay on her home territory with her own family. Your male should be happy either way but the female is going to have enough to deal with for the next 4 months without being taken out of her home while she's already stressed from being in heat.

I would make sure the female also has had her hips checked. It is better for the female to come to the males house.Have you checked his papers to make sure there is a no breeding claus. most good breeders have this and if there is and you still breed him he or she can take you to court.

Female to male.

And yeah... understandable. Honestly, I sometimes wish I could get a puppy out of my dog so I have an ongoing lineage of him, but the logistics of that just wouldn't work (so, he's fixed).

To the person who said you breed because you care about the breed... no, that's stupid. Yes, that's why some people do it. But what's wrong with breeding because you care your dog (as an individual, regardless of breed)?! Why is caring about the breed the only feasible reason, but caring about the dog is "wrong"? Ugh!

You always take the female to the male. You want to take the female to the male's territory.

The female goes to the male. The male is likely to perform better if he is in his own enviroment.

Is she OFA certified? What happens if she loses the litter? There are tons of stipulations here... What about the rest of the puppies?

Female to male.

But you're more likely to get a dog like your own dog if you buy a pup from the same parents as your dog's parents.
