The Davidians was a Religious sect that was disfellowshipped from the Adventist Church in the 1930s.
David Koresh- leader who believed to be Jesus Christ, would go to SDA colleges to recruit young Adventists for his cause. He would constantly speak against the Adventist Church. As a result, Koresh's name was erased from the books of the Church.
In his compound, Koresh would practice polygamy with underage brides, he physically abused children and had illegal weapons. A raid was conducted in 1993 on Mount Carmel, where the death toll was:6Davidians and 4ATF agents(after a gunfight broke out)
The FBI conducted a siege that lasted 51 days.Extremely Loud music would be played to try to force people out. If anyone try to leave, Koresh would shoot them.
Finally, tear gas was thrown into the compound. A fire broke out and 79 people died, including: 21 children. In my opinion, It was poorly handled by The Clintons and by Janet Reno. There were children involved.
This is what happens when people follow men instead of God. This is what happens when people believe in false christs and false prophets.

They grew out of the Seventh day Adventist church.
David Koresh claimed to be a prophet of God, with a new message for mankind. As in most cults, he abused the power that came about as people gave their wills to him. There were allegations of sexual abuse between David and the younger girls in the group, and he required that tithing be given to the organization without any oversight.
Most of the followers truly believed that they were the chosen people. This came from their Seventh Day Adventist roots. SDA people believe that they will be persecuted by the government for their Saturday worship and beliefs, so when the ATF came to arrest Koresh for gun possession, they truly believed that the times of persecution was upon them. There were 2 men who weren't at the complex during the first assault and they were shot trying to get into the place. Which shows you how much their beliefs effected their actions.
People without a persecution complex, might have been able to reason with the ATF agents early on and give up Koresh to the judicial system. But with a religious background that predicted governmental persecution, that was out of the question. In essence their beliefs became a self fulfilling prophesy.

They were a cult. I think they had a far worse reputation than they deserved. They children were never in danger, except from a liberal Clinton administration who is fearful of anything religious anyhow. Reno , who holds responsiblty for the fiasco, admitted afterwards it was one of the worse mistakes she ever made in her life.
Some people find it suspicious that the 3 agents that followed Bill on the campaign trail and presumably knew allot of embarrassing personal details happened to be the three who died together? that might be worth some research
It was a cult, but it was also an example of an overly heavyhanded mismanaged case under Reno where the children who were supposedly being rescued all died.

Dan, I feel you MUST view a documentary that I happened to come across while watching satellite a few months ago entitled WACO Rules of Engagement before you begin your paper.I am 45 yrs. old ,seen a lot, but this simply brought me to tears.Irregardless of what religion,CULT you may choose in this great country of ours to explore, follow, someone in powerful positions may feel threatened and what happened to the Branch Dividians could repeat itself again to anyone. Please view the show and consider a paper on our freedoms in our GREAT country. Many, many brave soles fought and DIED to give you and I all of the freedoms that seem to be cut into more each time a flag is waved.I can not help but wonder how proud a fallen hero would be now of our political leaders as they watched from above to see those Americans burn their fellow Americans. TALK with others about it.We are good people who sometimes follows blindly without question.
