How to tell my non-Muslim friends about Islam?

Question

By the way, I'm a high school student... a lot of my friends are either Christian or atheist.. mostly christian, but I actually know more about christianity than they do.. for I have read the bible, while they don't even go to church on Sundays..
I feel the need to tell them more about Islam.. but religion isn't really the topic teens like to talk about often..

My goal is not to convert them.. but only to pass on the messege..

personifiying Islam with what is seen in the media truly shows people's ignorance.. also claiming that a religion that 1.5 billion people (today) happen to follow, is a religion of terror and violence is just irrational.. if that were true that would mean that 1 out of every 5 people in the world would be violent..

Seems like your friends who class themselves Christians are not really christians but only in word. To tell them about Islam start from its history and I am sure your an intelligent person so will be able to tell them the truth. Here I will give you some ideas and you can also do some research and will find its history if you look and not give up.


Islam's origins have been traced back by scholars to the ancient fertility religion of the worship of the moon god which was always the dominant religion of Arabia. The moon god was worshipped by praying toward Mecca several times a day, making an annual pilgrimage to the Kabah which was a temple of the moon god, running around the Kabah seven times, caressing an idol of a black stone set in the wall of the Kabah, running between two hills, making animal sacrifices, gathering on Fridays for prayers, giving alms to the poor, etc. These were pagan rites practiced by the Arabs long before Muhammad was born."

Second, if you read the Qur'an's description of Allah, and read the Bible's description of God, it becomes obvious you are reading about two different persons. Allah orders his followers to kill those who deny Islam, while God instructs us to love our enemies. Allah had no son while God sent His Son to die for sinful men. Allah is "unknowable" while God seeks a personal relationship with His creation, man.

The spirit behind Islam is an entirely different spirit... a spirit that denies the deity of Jesus Christ.

He is a better person than you if his intention is to keep you on the path. Even when I was Christian I would hate "coconuts" i.e people who try and act like their Western when in fact their not. They forget that regardless of who you think you are to the people around you if it's them or you then it will be them. Look a Nazi Germany when the Jews abandoned their customs, culture and principles and look at Bosnia when the Muslims did the same thing. You should acknowledge the guys help and make efforts to get him following too, not lambasting him for it.

Maybe the question is how to tell you about islam? You have to read the Quran and see for yourself. Then you will know why islam is a doctrine of violence.

Might join discussion groups geared toward understanding & tolerance of any differences such as faith, sexuality,politics or anything else.
Maybe start one with help & approval from the faculty.
Be prepared to answer intelligent questions with as much fact as possible.
Also be prepared for stupid & mean spirited questions & do not engage them at their level.
As long as the discussion is open & you make it clear that you are not "selling " anything but understanding ,I think you
will find yourself to be wrong about teens not being interested.
If you can inform without preaching & be informed .... go for it.

You should allow them to believe what ever they like and only tell them about it if they are interested and ask for the information. Otherwise you are going to put them in an awkward position and the information will probably be wasted anyways.

Good friends will listen, but I wouldn't go out of my way to tell them that they are following the wrong God. Religious people tend to get a little touchy about that revelation.

when ever ur friends do bad things u stop them and tell them that in our Islam this things are prohibited in our Islam and explain them why it is prohibited coz ALLAHA says in the quran that u r the best human beings on earth who calls towards good deeds and stop doing bad deeds

If you don't want to burn in hell worse, I'd suggest keeping your mouth shut! Christians don't want to hear about devil worship, which is all Islam is! Christians aren't the ones murdering people, Islam is~!
