It all depends on your conception of God- i can't envision God - i cannot enclose him in a box and then tie it up with a pretty little ribbon. God is my faith - i think therefore i am- similarly his existence depends on my believing in him. When i talk to God or pray to God i know within my heart that he is there listening - it's called blind faith...

You are talking to, problably indirectly, the universal spirit that hold the universe together as one. Most people use an intermediary spirit, to connect with God. This spirit will only work as effectively, as it reflects the true qualities of God. I do not talk to God myself, I use meditation to tune in directly with this universal spirit.

I guess in part we talk to our inner self. Although I pray for things like patience and such not for 'stuff' as God is not Santa.
