Well I am in Ireland and they are not a dislikeable race at all over here. In fact I just spent a long weekend in Warsaw, it was lovely, the weather was great, clean streets, police everywhere, beautiful parks with red squirrels & peacocks. The only downside is that out hotel was smack bang in the middle of the red light district, I actually felt sorry for the poor girls & wanted to take down Hot Choc, but was afraid of getting a punter!!!!!!!!!

My beautician is Polish, so what! I don't care what race/religion/creed someone is as long as they wax my eyebrows straight!

This a very tricky subjecy in the UK at the moment. I think that it's just a bit of a culture shock as there has been such a huge influx during the last 12 months which no-one was prepared for. I don't believe that they are disliked just misunderstood; and due to the fact that the Polish are willing to work alot harder and do jobs that the British refuse to do, we have a very strange society in which many people look down on jobs, there has been alot of bad blood.
From my experience the only reason people are having problems with the immigrants is due to the inabilty to communicate. There were many Polish families who moved into my area and children who started at the local schools who were unable to talk any English at all. This led to staff being hired who could speech Polish in able to communicate to the new students. I believe that if the language barrier was broken then there would be alot less bad feeling.

Ignorance and prejudice are everywhere, you just get a sample of it on here. Polish immigrants, like many others before them, work hard, keep quiet, send money home and just try to get by earning an honest living - which is more than can be said for some of these whining lazy English folk who comment on them. Sadly, England is not a land of tolerance any more, we have forgotten that what made England great was its diversity, its tolerance and its acceptance of people from different cultures (apart from the Scots, Irish and Welsh!).

I'm sure you're nice people. I've worked with a few who were very nice (I also worked with one who was a horrible neo-Nazi though but thats another story.)

But when British natives lose their jobs and livelihoods because Poles are "cheaper" then that does create anger and resentment.

Sorry but when you invite yourselves into a country to take the good things it has to offer (wages, housing, healthcare) and some of the natives lose out in the process then you are not going to be completely popular with everyone.

You have to weigh this up against the fact that those who are not affected by your presence here (because they already have good secure jobs and immigration does not threaten them) seem to like you a lot.

Keypointist - if that was a stab at me for my previous question then let me tell you I claim NO BENEFITS at all! I'm at home looking after our baby son and my partner is doing 2 (min wage) jobs to support the two of us. Other than my Child Benefit and a tiny amount of Child Tax Credit I get NOTHING from the Government, so please do not accuse me of being "layabout" or "claiming benefits" I am neither.

Not from me, I actually like Polish people. My gripe is mass immigration not the people. I am concerned about importing political ideas such as Islamic politics. I believe Islamic politics will not change in 1000 years and will come more and more into conflict with the west.

Moving people into the UK in 100s of 1000s whatever their religion and politics is unfair on the British people.

Not at all, I would say in my experience that you are the most liked of the immigrant new comers. Like most Brits (workers are still the majority) you are hard working, you have a culture similar to ours though much poorer, you have a Christian background, you wish to assimilate not segregate, Add to this that we owe you a debt of gratitude for your contributions during WW2. There are some immigrants that we would prefer not to have in this country, unfortunately we tend to lump them altogether, if you asked most individuals you would find that we have no argument with Polish people. Welcome to my country! x

Nope. I think personally that the Poles are hard working and, in the case of the lass at my work with the unpronounceable surname, absolutely gorgeous.
Like all people, there are good Poles and criminal Poles. But in my experience, Scotland has got a batch of the best.

Trouble is, friend, websites like this are where the bigots shout loudest, and you are probably right about the bad remarks. But the bigots aren't the majority, they're just the loudest.

You again! I reported you the last time for being racist againt Poles. Now you are claiming to be one! You must think people have a short memory my friend. Just for a record since you are using misrepresentation in this question I think this is an offence under YA rules.

Let's face it, I think you are a BNP supporter.

People: The man is a troll. Check out his other question here to see what I mean.

You should be ashamed of yourself!

No, Poles are probably the most likeable immigrants. They are hard working and polite.

And this is coming from a Brit who is married to an Albanian lol.

No, the most dislikeable group living in the UK are the benefit hungry workshy British yobs who complain loudest about 'immigrents wot com ere an nick all our jobs' - the same jobs as none of the bugg3rs has shown a blind bit of interest in getting for themselves.... They're the biggest problem (and national disgrace). the Poles are cool, and you can now get decent lager in most corner shops...
