..would you:
a) call the police to get him out, or
b) let him stay because, after all, he just wants a better life?

Amanda, I don't think you quite understand the nature of an "analogy". You say mine is lame and then try to prove it by trying to make it more literal. An analogy by definition is not literal. But if it makes you feel better, then fine... what would you do if your neighbors decided to live in a trailer-home on your lawn?

Personally I would call the police...........

While your question is trying to use basic logic it is upsetting to the ones that can't see the parallels.

Many people won't understand that by putting up with the constant flow of "people wanting a better life" we are insulting all those that go through the paperwork, years of waiting and background checks .

So while embracing the illegals - we are insulting all those legal , hardworking foreigners that dream of a better life also .
Doesn't sound right but what the hey - this is America - we need more illegals.

al queda is a group of disgrunteled, power hungry religous zealots. even most islamic leaders agree that al-queda is a group of nutcases. and if the iraqi people had taken control of the situation in the 90's this war would not have happened.oil? the price of oil is at or near an all time high. and what it is that you do not like about democracy? the voting, the idea that your gov should work for you, the concept of freedom? and if the people of iraq would stop moving like a tall reed in the political winds of war and stand up to the killers in their midst, the military would be gone by now. yes the usa came in but it is the cowardice of the people in that country to fight for their country that keeps them there. al-queda sucks and everybody knows this to be the truth. at very best they are no better than the "people" that will not leave your house. we left the kurds in the 90's. that did not work out so well.

I would..

1) Ask him to leave
2) Make a threat to let him know that the life I built for me and my family belongs to us and if he wants the same benefits he should work to achieve it at his house.
3) I would make a strong show to let him know he is not wanted. As a guest and he asked in advance, maybe but he won't force himself in my house and then declare himself a guest. The owner of the house decides who is a guest or not. This is where he might get a bullet in his azz and get thrown on the curb.

I would ask if he is certified in CPR and if he can watch our children?

I hate this analogy. Too lame for words. Because I OWN MY HOME. I don't OWN a chunk of land. A better analogy would be if he came onto your property. That is what has happened, no?

"B" : if he had some tequila &/or Bud Light he could stay even longer.
I would get him a key made so next time he wouldn't have to break in. He could help out around the house for room and board.

Actually, my neighbor would be stepping down a bit. This is, although similar to the illegal immigration issue, not really the same at all. For one thing, the police may be hampered, in your example, from removing the neighbor because they need to verify that it is in fact your house and that you did not actually invite hime in.

C) Shoot him. Missourians can use deadly force to protect our house, home and family. Why doesn't the rest of the govenment? Goodbye.

CALL THE POLICE AND GET HIM OUT....

that's a good one that i have actually used.... good point!!!

don't forget that the "neighbor" is asking for free food, for you to pay all of his and his families medical bills and for you to pay to educate his kids, etc etc etc etc! and by the way if you don't hop to it or if you complain===you are a racist!!!!!!!!!!!
