I was thinking about it the other day, how religious people think God made us all, but he made us all different, so there are distinct differences between us. When evolution states, the only reason we have different skin colors is because of our different geographical locations (I might be wrong about that, correct me if I am). Your thoughts?

Go search for the COMPLETE TITLE of Charles Darwin's "Origin of Species" book and see for yourself who promotes racism the most.

However, the Scriptures are full of it too, Darwin was a minister remember, he simply explained the differences erroneously as compaired to how the Scriptures do.
1Pe 2:9 But ye are a

elect race,

a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for Yahweh's own possession, that ye may show forth the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

Amo 3:1 Hear this word that Yahweh hath spoken against you,

O children of Israyl,

against the whole family which I brought up from the land of Egypt, saying,

Amo 3:2 You only have I known of all the families of the earth:

therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities.

In my personal experience more emphasis is placed on race by religious people, but I think that also has a lot to do with the demographic in which you live. More racism in this country is present in the American South, (where Southern Baptists reign...maybe a coincidence?) and some Middle Eastern religious sects embrace racism as a natural part of their relgious upbringing. Overall, if a person is growing up in a culture of strong relgion there is going to be a way to "explain" the different races. Whether or not that religion allows for discrimination depends entirely on the sect, not necessarily the relgion itself. I think that the worst parts of that is that people who ARE racist that use their relgions to back them up make their relgion look bad, when in reality I'm not aware of any relgious document of ANY religion that expressly states that one race is better than another. It's all in interpretation.

Keep in mind that in the days of slavery, Christians used the Bible to back up the keeping of slaves, stating that Africans were descended from Noah's wayward son who saw him naked. In the Bible, Noah's sons are used to explain different races, but not as a punishment per se. It's all about interpretation. It's just truly horrid when someone uses their religion to enforce bigotry.

We all carry some level of prejudice however, the belief that inequality exists came from religious teachings and doctrines. Slavery was a direct result of people claiming that God created some people to be chosen and above others.

Science acknowledges differences, but also similarities and doesn't claim that there is a higher purpose in creation of different people.

So religions emphasize race allot more.

Depends on the religion. TRUE Christianity does not discriminate by race. We are brothers and sisters according to the spirit, not the flesh.
