I understand your concerns about having a good lawyer, but public defenders will be provided and you can request a different one if you don't like the one you get.
Look at this from the judge's perspective. Who would you show more leniency towards? A guy who takes responsibility and shows up to answer to his charges, or a guy who runs and hides and the cops have to hunt him down??
Turn yourself in, ASAP.

Turn your self in..........
Warrants NEVER go away. They are only cleared out if the subject is arrested or dies.
A lawyer can not make a warrant go away. Any time one has a warrant, they must be arrested and booked and then bail is set....or if it is a serious charge... a lawyer may be required to assist in getting bail set or the person released prior to trial.
Being on the lamb will never be a good thing. One way or another the person is going to county jail.
I say, get it over with.... And then get a lawyer to help with the pending charges.

Turn yourself in. For several reasons:
1. It is a law that everyone is entitled to representation. So if you cannot afford a lawyer, one will be provided to you free of charge.
2. If you wait to be arrested, the charges will be stiffer. If you turn yourself in, the court will respect that and you may not be penalized as badly.

If it is a misdemeanor then just bring $100 with you to court on a Monday morning, and ask to see the judge. The $100 is in case you need to bond out. Face the music basically. Good luck

Turn yourself in...you will receive representation and it will look good to the judge. It will show that you aknowledge the charges against you, even if you are pleading not guilty.
