Windows.
It tends to play many more games and programs.
PC's tower is separate from the monitor. So, if you want to improve or repair a PC, you don't risk damaging the monitor.
More people use Windows than Macs, so it's easier to get help (if you actually need it) and easier to put the help into effect.
But most importantly, the Windows interface is much more intuitive and easier to use by a longshot. I really can't stress that enough. Windows 95 was easier to use than even the most recent Mac OS. Given a choice (which institutions sometimes don't give), I'd choose a Windows over a Mac any day.
P.S. It's easy to install a good antivirus program on a Windows, though the defult Norton couldn't catch a worm if it was a sunfish. Get Avast and stop going to dirty porn sites and downloading files from shady sites, or downloading files from eMule with more than 1000 sources, and you won't get a virus.
P.P.S. "macs never crash unlike pcs"? What are you on, enrique7718? Macs crash more than a crash test dummy, dummy.

Macs!!!
Macs are like the power of Linux with the ease of Window. It gives me the option to use command line instead of gui. OS10 has better gui than Vista. Sorry, but vista is way overboard with icons and graphics. There are less viruses! And the mac laptops are just so sexy.
However, Windows has an upper hand with amount of programs accessable. Macs are not as easy to customize than PCs. If I would build a computer, it would be a PC. Converting files from a mac to a PC is a pain too. Since I work mostly with PCs, that would be annoying.
I lOVE macs the best but I couldn't live without one PC. (And that's why I have both!)

As with many of the others answering this question, it is too undefined for an easy answer.
Machines running MS Windows are typically less expensive, offer a wider range of software and permit more flexibility in peripherals, expansion and configuration.
Hardware
A Windows based machine may be purchased for well under $500. You can typically open up the box to upgrade RAM, video card, sound card, and other pieces as funds permit. A Mac Mini starts at $599. The box tends to be less configurable and require more specific components for upgrade. That being said, if you have any issue with your Mac, the support provided by Apple is far superior to that provided by many (not all) of the Windows based vendors. Also, since the Operating System and the Hardware come from the same vendor - there is no finger pointing as to who is the culprit behind an issue.
Software
There is a wider selection of software available for Windows machines. In addition, there is a wide variety of open source / public domain / shareware software that permits a user to deploy a Windows based machine at a far lower price point than a Macintosh. On my system, I run free anti-virus (Avast), firewall (Comodo), Office Suite (OpenOffice), and graphics applications. I have a wide choice in media players (all free). That being said, the Mac's operating environment typically provides a far more user friendly experience over the Windows environment. XP was the most stable OS from Microsoft (the court is still out on Vista) and Vista is supposed to provide a better experience, but I think they are still playing catch up with the Macintosh.
As someone who has used both systems, I find pluses and minuses on both sides. In my world, the schools, companies and organizations I work with all run under Windows making that the choice for me. However, if you are looking for a lower stress environment with good support, I recommend a Macintosh.

There are many benefits to both systems. I Use Mac OS X at home, while I use windows xp at work. Macs are great system on a productivity level, especailly for Video and Photography, The only true downside of Mac is the low number of free programs that you can obtain.
From a technical standpoint however, Mac OS is more stable, it's difficult to get your Mac OS infected with a Virus or Malware because there really arent many, so I'd personally say Mac.

If you're really asking:
What is the best operating system? They are all different, offer different pros and cons, and fill different needs for different people. For example, Gamers have different needs than Podcasters, etc. I personally believe that the best operating system is the one that you LIKE to use and that meets ALL your needs. That is the bottom line.
If your really asking:
Is a MAC worth the price? Try this experiment: Price out a MAC at www.apple.com Then, price out a virtually hardware identical PC at www.Dell.com, www.hp.com etc. Then, add Vista Ultimate (like OS X), M$-Office (Neo-Office free for OS X), Norton Internet Security (no known OS X malware), Back up software (Included in OS X), and any other software you may need on the Windows PC (Likely free on OS X).
Then, compare prices, I believe you will find that the Mac PRICE will be very close.
Finally, go to an Apple Store and take one for a test drive, ask LOTS of questions and then, decide for yourself.
For more info on OS X Tiger, check out this site:
P.S. OS X on Intel Macs runs Windows using Boot Camp.

Macs are deff. better because there is hardly anything that could go wrong and it runs on its own operating system, windows can easily get viruses and since it can run on more than one kind of operating system it varies of its performance. I have both a mac and a pc and let me tell u the mac out runs the pc and there is soooo much more u can do w/ a mac plus the things you can already do w/ a pc

Windows (though I have to use a MAC at work). Though MAC is touted to being better for artists, I have found that Windows users have a much wider choice of accessible programs, and that overall for me, it is easier to use.

i have heard Macs are better, they supposedly have better graphics. I personally just do not like the setup of Mac software, so me personally I prefer how windows is set up. As far as what one is better, i want to say windows, just based on the fact it is what I am most familiar with.

Better for what? Windows is way better at getting malware (viruses, trojans, spyware etc). The problem is, the term "better" is totally subjective. For more constructive answers you need to ask better questions. If you're looking to do something specific, then say so. You want to run a database server? A web server? Play a certain game? Edit quicktime movies? All these details help :)
