I've been dating my boyfriend for almost a year now and he has mild cerebral palsy. He gets these 'cold chills'. That's what he calls them, but he doesn't know what causes them. He gets them frequently. When he's woken up, when he is driving, and when he is not 'cold'. Just at random times. He won't go to a doctor to ask about them and told me that he's had them for a long time. I just want to know if maybe these could be small seizures? It's scary because if he gets them while he is driving he could lose control of the car, and I just don't want to see him get hurt. Is it normal for someone with CP?

Unless he's losing control of motor functions in one way or another, they are not - I repeat, NOT - seizures. I get cold chills all the time when it's warm out, it's not that uncommon.

It's usually pretty easy to figure out when someone has had a seizure; 9 times out of 10 it involves a short blackout.

I don't know that the cold chills are normal. But I do know that brain damage is associated with cerebral palsy, so it is possible that there is a problem with that area of his brain.

Your boyfriend should have that looked at, before it becomes something that could cause him to have a fatal accident.

Good luck!
