I think you are talking complete crap. To be a Catholic in Guy Fawkes time was worse than being a Muslim in the UK today. I think this is just another excuse to post an anti Muslim question

Has our country gone mad. We are now a multi race society and as such we should all make an effort to get along. We all have our own faiths and traditions and as such should respect that. The UK has allowed mosques to be built and we have respected that, but I think also that the British should be allowed to maintain their traditions and not have them pushed under the "politically correct" umbrella. There is no such thing. The sooner we realise that we are born and we all die regardless of religion, or colour, then maybe there is a chance for this lovely country that we live in. Sadly though I think it may be too late, we have already ruined a big part of it with conflict, neglect, racial tensions, disrespect.

the answer is no, bonfire night was done long before guy fawkes was around. i don't blame a lot of Muslim's for being uneasy in this climate, i would be too if i were a muslim. the overwhelming majority of muslims in this country are peaceful, caring, and most of all, valuable members of our society.

Any excuse for a celebration as far as I'm concerned. A good Bonfire Night and Happy Diwali to those who celebrate it.

LOL..you'r telling me...i think - yes ..goverment would have banned it because of SOME 'touchy' NON- muslims instead!..who wet their pants at the thought of the words 'muslims' and 'bomb' together!
People need to get a life..it's not us the ones who are 'touchy' it's actulay many other people who constantly attack Islam. : )

Most muslims, jews and christians I know are perhaps weak on the strict observances of their various religious codes, but strong on common sense and what it takes to get along with other groups. Only the fundamentalists who see only black and white and who refuse to compromise seek violence and hatred to pursue their baleful and malevolent agendas.

I am surprised that it hasn't been banned all ready. Bonfires, sparklers, firework is enough to keep a public safety official up all night.

It would of course be politically correct not to offend those who are not of the state religion.
So if you got caught lighting a bonfire on the 5th Nov you would probably get a prison sentence, so there wouldn`t be room to lock up the people who rob and steal..!!!!

knowing the labour party and their barmy army of human rights fools, they would have given them the right to blow up parliment by now.....and that act alone!! would go 99% of the way toward peace and understanding between us.
