won't let you use some programs or some programs are not compatible with the mac system?

if it's the first, give it up. not gonna happen. there are some kinds of software that are not allowed on school networks. in other words, anything that is not "for educational purposes".
and chances are you can't sweet-talk the sysadmin to give your account higher authority.

if it's the second, give it up. not gonna happen. what is not compatible with mac simply won't work on mac. you can try and look for alternatives of the programs you're using customized to the OS you need.

They won't let you use certain programs because they are protecting you and all the other students from yourselves.

They also have to protect themselves from lawsuits, malware and irate parents.

Wait until you get home.
