I've been friends with this girl who I met at this volunteer org for a while. Recently I think she's coming on to me. She asked me for my # and when we talk about something volunteer related she would ask me personal questions.

I guess it's going well so far. We hung out a few times, but it's usually with the entire volunteer group. She always tries to get me to stay after our volunteer meetings to grab something to eat or asks me to drive her home.

The only thing I'm wondering about is she's like 7-8 yrs older than I am, and she has a stable fancy job, and I'm still 20 y/o in college. Everytime we hang out, she always picks up the tab, even though I offer to pay for us both or at least for my portion. She always says that it's okay b/c she knows I don't make much money at my job.

I just feel like I don't want to be unfair. And I'm not sure how it will go if it stays like this w/ the age and financial thing. Anyone have ideas about dating older girls? What do you think I should do?

Age isn't that big of a deal, really. If you like her, it shouldn't matter if she's 20 years older. The only thing this really affects is having children; at one point, she's not going to be able to and if you're not ready by then, you've lost your chance.

You're still in college, and I think it's safe to say you're still figuring yourself out. This is just another way of doing that. You'll learn something, maybe find love, maybe not. At the very least, you've got a new friend.

Men don't have to be the breadwinners in the family. If she was a brain surgeon and you were a busboy, but you were both happy, it doesn't matter who makes the most money.

Maybe, if you're interested in dating her, you can ask her out on a real date - "my treat". That way, she will feel less obligated to pay - servers typically put the check down closest to the man, so be sure to snag it first. If she's comfortable with paying and you're not using this to your advantage, there's no harm in it.

i mean i believe in equal rights and it should be no big deal if she wants to pay for you because of your money issues, but to show that you're interested, one day after your voulnteer work ask her to go for ice-cream or coffee and say its on you.

peace

I think she's already been there and tried to make it easier on your currently. Hey, if she's willing to foot the bill, let her.
