The number one reason for volunteering is Love. A love for people. When you love people you want to help, ypu want to lift up, you want to make them smile and forget about their problems for awhile, and in the end you will end up with more blessings than they will because the joy and the warmth that will be in your heart is overwhelming, and will give you a big smile. And as you know smiling is contagious. Volunteering also teaches you how to deal with certian types of peoples and personalities, the people you can come in contact with are diverse and from totally different cultures than you are so you are always learning. But Love is universal and a smile will speak loud and clear even when you don't understand a word they are saying, Good luck, and happy volunteering!!

First , is because you need to fill your time in between, you have to share what is your Gods given talent that some people don`t have. Then believe me there`s a magic in there that you would not experience by just sitting down and doing nothing while everybody is in crisis. When you help somebody heartily and without expecting something in return , you would feel such thing of fullfilment in you knowing that you help others through your effort .You may never understand what I`m saying now but if you try , then you would know.

Peace be upon you

Mainly we are created by Allah in a shared web, taking and giving - rights and duties.

If some one have an ability in certain field, it will be good to participate this ability to help those have not or need it.

like buying and selling - you give money to take a benefit - but when volunteer you give effort, money, time or caring to take a benifit from making people happy and better.

In addition to self confidence and learning many experiences about how life is going with other people not you.

Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'la gives believed people several awards for helping people by rewards in the last life and making easy life in the current life by helping them when problems.

Would you 'volunteer' to wash dishes, clean the cat tray and babysit a brat? These things can help people too.
If you enjoy helping people and dont see 'volunteering' as a noble rosy sentimental thing..go for it. The world needs as many as can do the job.

It does a lot for your spirit to give to those less fortunate than yourself. It looks good on resumes and job apps too.
