Same reason they hate Spanish, Spanish speaking people, immigrants, and many other things.

In most cases is politics, in others it is inherited from the English, in others because WASP are ethnocentric and believe that they are the best, the superior, the Master Race.
Also, there is a combination of all of the above

In others, I am still working on that

Do you know that once a yank went to England, and in the airport he saw two doors ? One said: "foreigners" and the other: "British subjects".
The yank went straight to the second. There he was told that he should go to the first door.
"But I am no foreigner" he protested "I am an American"

To dixie58:
Exactly what do you mean ? Are you in favor or against what ? You scream very loud, but your arguments lack clarity

To catbone:
Which inquisition you mean ? The Catholic or the protestant ?

If the Bible is correct then it used to be positioned in combination by means of God, now not guys; guys who take credit score for it are coming from the ego (and 'legislation') now not grace. Christ is the Word, and best Christ inside can see the Word within the bible and appreciate it (with eyes that see). Christ is to be had to every body, and those that realize him in my view might not ever say, 'right here seem at me; seem at my faith to grasp God.' Religion is a sham that distracts its fans from understanding God straight. Christ is the Great Liberator -- the fake church is the Great Whore of Babylon. If it does not Liberate from the Beast, it's not from Christ, however from the Beast. (protestants as good as catholics do not inspire enlightenment for all, so they're the identical) May all of us have eyes to peer, and realize Christ inside.

“There are not a hundred people in America who hate the Catholic Church. There are millions of people who hate what they wrongly believe to be the Catholic Church— which is, of course, quite a different thing.” - Bishop Fulton J. Sheen in his foreward to Radio Replies Vol. 1, page ix

Do you mean the inquisition? Purchase of castrato slaves by cardinals? Enslavement of the people of the new world? Imprisonment, torture, and murder of intellectuals? Imprisonment of those who published bibles in local languages?

Maybe because they happened.
