Dinner is great...but definitely make it yourself...including dessert!!! In addition, here are a couple of simple ways to express your love for your hunny.

Make a list of 100 reasons you married him, cut out each one and put them in a special container (I found a box that I could put a picture of us on the front). Anytime he is missing you or doubting your love (in hard times) he can always refer to the container. (I've also opened the box I gave my fiance when I was upset with him to remind myself why I love him).

Make your own personalized "Book of Promises" for him. This is great for men who aren't romantic. Eight should be enough. I found a quote and then added my request after it. Cut out the sheets of paper and put it in a book. Martha Stewart has a great crafty way to make the book (money holder). Here's an example of one that I used.
"Lots of people want to ride with you in the limo, but what you want is someone who will take the bus with you when the limo breaks down." ~Oprah Winfrey~
Take me for a walk, rain or shine.

Hope these ideas are helpful! Have fun and congrats on 2 years!

Surprise him by taking him out on a date! Find a sitter or a family member who can take care of the baby for a few hours and you two can have a fun time with each other. Enjoy a movie, dinner, and maybe some dessert away from the hectic daily life and just let go of your worries (at least for a few hours.)

Another option: if you can't find a sitter or prefer not to go out. Rent some movies and eat at home. Order delivery and just indulge in the time you two have with the little one and no dishes to clean! I think he will appreciate the fact that you and the baby are with him to share your 2nd anniversary.

Get a sitter and go for a hike and a picnic. Or if the weather is not cooperating, go to a restuarant with a nice atmosphere or view for drinks and appetizers - no need for a big expensive dinner. Just some nice quiet time together.

Or get a sitter (away from home), make a nice dinner at home with a good bottle of wine and enjoy a quiet evening together.

My DH and I have been married 24 years and we usually stick to simple celebrations.

A love letter will not cost you anything except the price of a frame to put it in.

A holiday ornament can be personalized with your names and wedding date on it. You can probably find one of these for $10 or less "on line" or in an arts and crafts store or in a Christmas or holiday specialty store.

Have a wonderful candlelit picnic at home with your beautiful baby. Enjoy the moment which is more precious a gift than anything else.
