Hi,

Yea, as you know - the belief system is faith, growing and living faith.

And about Abraham and Jesus as God, actually there´s a story about it in the Scriptures, when the Priests tempted Jesus ::::::><:::::::::><::::::::><:::::::::><::::::::::><:::::::::::><::::::::>

Let´s read the book of John chapter 8 verse 38:

"I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father.

They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham.

But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham.

Ye do the deeds of your father. Then said they to him, We be not born of fornication; we have one Father, even God.

Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.

Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word."

Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Can you see, they said we are Abraham´s children, and they could by flesh but not in spirit.... if it were so the work of Abraham they´d do...

There´s a quotation from a christian book about it i´d like to share = )

"God called Abraham to be a teacher of His word, He chose him to be the father of a great nation, because He saw that Abraham would instruct his children and his household in the principles of God's law. And that which gave power to Abraham's teaching was the influence of his own life. His great household consisted of more than a thousand souls, many of them heads of families, and not a few but newly converted from heathenism. Such a household required a firm hand at the helm. No weak, vacillating methods would suffice. Of Abraham God said, "I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him." Genesis 18:19. Yet his authority was exercised with such wisdom and tenderness that hearts were won. The testimony of the divine Watcher is, "They shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment." Genesis 18:19. And Abraham's influence extended beyond his own household. Wherever he pitched his tent, he set up beside it the altar for sacrifice and worship. When the tent was removed, the altar remained; and many a roving Canaanite, whose knowledge of God had been gained from the life of Abraham His servant, tarried at that altar to offer sacrifice to Jehovah. {Ed 187.2}"

So God as a Father taught Jesus as His son and at the same time Jesus taught Abraham as an heir of salvation

Greetings
Grace be with you

Yes.
The explanation involves a lot of groundwork in the concept of the Trinity and the dual (fully human, fully divine) nature of Jesus the Christ. There isn't really room here to elaborate and there are much better places to find serious discussions of this than this website.

However, the incarnation of Jesus is not the first or only time that God appeared to men in human form. In Genesis 18, Abraham had 3 angelic visitors. Notice v. 1 "The LORD appeared to Abraham...", and v.10 "Then the LORD said..." One of the angels was God Himself, what is called a 'theophany'. So the idea that Jesus was God (in essential nature) and also human, is not foreign to Scripture. And, if Jesus is God, then He is THE God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob (and thereby, also of Mohamed, but that's another issue).

I am an evangelical Christian, Methodist by church affiliation (if that really matters)

Jesus comes from the Father- the God of Abraham.
The Father is the Creator, the God of Abraham, the writer of the original Covenant with the Israelites. The Israelites were forbidden from having a personal relationship with the Father.
Jesus is the human form of God, conceived by the Holy Spirit. Jesus was the way for humans to have a personal relationship with God.
The Holy Spirit is the part of God that is with every Christian, the Counselor. The Spirit is who Christians turn to for guidance.

The "three in one" is the different manifestations of the original God of Abraham. Jesus is God.

Obviously, I'm Christian. I was brought up Episcopalian, now I am Non-denominational.

Yes. There is only one true God, God of Abraham who came to the earth as Jesus to show us the way to have a personal relationship with God.

Moses is the prophet by way of whom God shows Abraham. Abraham is a guy. The Holy Trinity, God the father, God the son, and God the holy spirit, is God the writer, Christ Jesus, and Holy Spirit which could to the apostles while in Jerusalem. besides the fact that the Holy Trinity can't be understand, you may evaluate each and each individual a edge of God. Christianity began as a sect in Judaism, the apostles have been Jews who believed Jesus grew to become into the Jewish Messiah. As Gentiles (non Jews) grew to alter into Christian, Christianty grew to alter right into a particular faith. Christianity is a concept, a set of rules--faith. employing Aristotelian 2 value logic is attempting to maintain on with the scientific technique to concept. Sorry in basic terms God shows, and guy observes.

In the book of hebrews it is said that Jesus is our high priest after the order of Melchizedek. Abraham paid tithes to Melchizedek. Jesus promised a helper for His believers. The Holy Spirit indwells believers in Jesus. This was a new revelation in the earth. That God wanted to use humans as His tabernacle by placing His Holy Spirit inside of them. Some patriarchs and prophets understood this. But now God wants to invite all His creation to experience this. And we should because it will qualify us for eternal life. Muslims claim ancestry to Abraham but cannot receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit through Mohammed. That is reserved for believers in Jesus.

The Word is the body of God the Spirit, and the Word/body was made flesh, and dwelt with men. Jesus is the Word/body made flesh and is the temple/body of God the Spirit:

John 4:24, Jesus said, "God is a Spirit".

John 3:34, "For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God::: for God giveth not the Spirit BY MEASURE unto him".

Colossians 1:15, speaking of the Son, "Who is the image of the INVISIBLE GOD". (19), "For it pleased the Father that IN HIM should all fulness dwell".

Colossians 2:9, "For IN HIM dwelleth ALL the fulness of the Godhead BODILY".

This is why in Luke 11:20, Jesus said, "But if I WITH THE FINGER OF GOD cast out devils"; his body is God's body, and therefore, his finger is God's finger.

The words, image and likeness, in Genesis 1:26, have two different meanings; image is # 6754 in Strong's Exhaustive Concordance and means phantom or illusion; likeness is #1823 and means shape or model. We were made both body and spirit; just as the Godhead. A TWO-FOLD BEING.

Yes. Jesus is the visible image of the invisible God. Jesus walked with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. The God of Exodus 3:14 "I AM has sent me to you". Jesus said to the teachers of the Law "Before Abraham was, I AM". Why else did the teacher of the Law want to stone Him?! Logic tells us that They are one and the same.

I'm a Trinitarian.
