That's sad. Her kids won't have a mother because she cared more about her religion than them. If you have kids they come first, not you.

As with most religions/cults they interpret the written word in different ways. JWs interpret a part of christian scripture that says "Avoid blood" as an argument against blood transfusion. Muslims do this by the ritual slaughter and "bleeding" of the animal. Many years ago a JW informed me that everything in and of the world was created by the almighty, every skill and gift man posessed was at the direction of the same almighty. When I asked if the skill and ability to perform blood transfusions came from the almighty why were they so opposed to it, they had no answer. I am sure that is is possible to replace blood lost by something other than blood or a by-product of it.
I don't know whether I admire this woman for having the courage of her beliefs in the face of death, or despise her for a fool in leaving two motherless children who are real, for something that at best is based on blind faith. Most religions preach that human life is the most precious of gifts and any means should be used to preserve life. Why do JWs deny this?

This is the sort of baseless nonsense that makes religion so dangerous. If there was some worthwhile reason to have silly rules like this, I could better understand. But this is pointless.

In much the same way, I remember a while back that quite a few young girls died in Saudi Arabia because the morality police wouldn't let them leave a burning building... because they didn't have their faces covered!

Sometimes I envy religious people. It must be fun sometimes to believe fairy tales are real. But then there are times like this when I'm so very very glad that I can so easily see how stupid these beliefs really are.

What is religion? A particular set of religious beliefs. Like we religiously go to work or watch television. Christianity on the other hand is a completely different subject. People often get these two mixed up. I ask you now, are you confused? This question is not meant to hurt you only to help you.

Any religion is just a matter of faith and none of them can be shown to have any real truth in them. I think is is a great shame that someone can kill themselves for no reason other than they have belief in some of which the chances of being correct are about 90,000,000 to 1 or even less.
What makes this case worse is that she had an obligation to nurture the two children she brought into the world and she abandoned that obligation and deserted those children for such a silly reason

No, no religion...fanaticism which is different, religion is an idea, people can make it their own, this is the problem... people´s ignorance, not religion.

Religion gives a great basement for understanding the world, our mission and our society, should put us in contact with our own humanity, religion does a lot of good things for our life, but for understanding religion you have to have love inside and you have to have an open heart.

The problem is people, and yes, evil that confuse the ignorant to destroy themselves.

As a mature adult she has a right to embrace and practice according to her faith and beliefs. She was not a victim but an individual choosing to abide by her personal chosen beliefs.
Even without religious practices anyone can wave life saving procedures if they wish to. Do not recessitate is one often used by individuals not wanting to be placed on life support machines.

There is no logic in the JW doctrine against blood transfusions. Many Christians are blood donors.

This isn't "religion" in general, this is a specific religion, the Jehovah's Witnesses. Generalizing about religious people and religions in general based on one doctrine of one religion is like generalizing about black people based on the actions of one black person.

a Man may write, but not all that is written is true.
I believe this Woman was mislead by her Belief and died for it.
Man. Jesus said that their would be many people who claimed to be Christs of God and will fool many, Their are many Christian denominations, but not all of them is truth, but lies, just as jesus said. many will be fooled and die for it. and just because it is a Christian denomination does not mean satan is not involved with the misleading of these denominations as the disciples said Satan can even come about as a angel of light or a sign of light.
