Kaeden is 3 and gets so frusterated at his new stuttering that he cries. His tubes have been clogged or something before so he had to have them cleaned out or pushed back down (I'm not sure on the details but I know he had problems with them once.) Anyway, he yells when he talks, stutters, and says "huh?" or "what". He confuses words to (we say "stop that" and he thinks we said "step back" or something similar.) Could his stuttering be because of his tubes?

Stuttering at this age is common, but it isn't because of ear tubes. Go to www.stutteringhelp.org and you will find tips for parents to help children who start stuttering along with an explanation of children's stuttering at this age.

Absolutely not. Speech development and hearing loss go hand in hand. However when one has hearing loss (everytime you have an ear infection you have hearing loss) they cannot hear properly what is being said. Therefore their speech develops slower. Stuttering is not related. The ear tubes should be keeping his ears clean and free of infection so he doesn't continue with the cycle of hearing then not hearing everytime he gets an infection.
