Lynn doesn't seem to understand that this question is about doing things which are logically impossible - like the old situation of the irresistable force meeting the immovable object.
Unfortunately they are meaningless questions, if there were irresistable forces there could be no immovable objects and vice versa. Many theists would accept that God could do things physically impossible (at least according to our own physical laws) but to do something logically impossible is impossible for any being even one that could make up physical laws as it went along. There's no point trying to wrap your head around logical impossibilities. They cannot exist. Nor can we truly contemplate infinity with a finite mind.
*Cute that some theists say yes God can make it so heavy he can't lift it because he can do anything - missing the point that if he can't lift it, he's not omnipotent... Feeble minds.*

God will not fool around with rebellious questions! God has an answer to any legitimate and honest question, but this is just an attempt to grasp at straws when there's nothing left to use to criticize God with. It's an excuse (and a rather poor one, at that) to rebel against God and His Authority.
Yes, yes. I know you said you believe in God, but why ask a question like this in the first place?
There are a number of things God can NOT do. God can not SIN. God can NOT allow sin to go unpunished. God can not lie. God can not violate His own nature, even though we do so every day.
God is not a paradox and will not be cornered so easily. If you ever read in the gospels, the pharisees (the one's that Jesus compared to a white-washed tomb that looks good on the outside, but on the inside full of dead man's bones), these pharisees tried to trip up Jesus with foolish questions, and each time, Jesus answered by the wisdom of God and put them back in their place.
So, you want an answer? Here's my answer: Just because nobody can answer this question sufficiently to satisfy you, will you allow a little question like this send you to hell for doubting God and His Word?

I have heard this question before. It does appear to be a dilemma. But the bible says God holds the universe in His hand.So maybe a better question is, 'Would God want to make a rock that big?

How big the rock that he can created so he can't lift it, can you imagine how great is it? All the space will be destroyed because of that. I think if we do that, all of the creatures in the space will destroyed and there's no life anymore

I personally do not believe God is omnipotent. I believe that God is spirit, and the things a spirit can do are limited.

you believe in god right!!!!
there is somethings that we can not understand with our poor mind compared to god.
this is one of the cases....
you put two conditions , if god did one : it cancel the other.....
but here it is......
god can do both of them in somehow we can not understand
god can do it in a way you can not understand

Is this still an imbibing question?
Oh I forgot. I don't drink. Well, then I'll answer your question anyway.
The answer is: God doesn't contradict Himself. I don't know whether or not He can't, but I do know that He doesn't.
In effect, God doesn't do anything that God wouldn't do. I know that's circular reasoning, but there you have it.
It's like asking if God can do evil. The answer again is no: evil is contradictory to God's essence, so He does not do evil. God can do anything, but the confines of our finite logic often don't apply to Him.
