I did asked the same question 40 years ago because bible said Adam and Eve were our ancientist then we were marrying our family members. My teacher showed me her version that god continued to make man and woman and let them live outside the garden of Eden. First of all, the old testament was supposed to be the teacher. We were to learn how to conduct ourselves as born again Christians. After all, The Holy Bible was written for and to Christians. It is our guide book and map of how to make Heaven our home for all eternity. It was written by men who were inspired of GOD and not to be altered in any way!! If we are not a born again Christian we cannot understand any of it. Read the book of James, chapter 1 verse 5 and you will know about wisdom.
evolution is foolishness and shows me that these people have too much time on their hands. GOD, in all HIS loving-kindness, created everything and allowed us to be a part of it. Everything is beautiful that GOD made but when man puts his hand to it all is ruined. The bible is about man's relationship with G-d, these laws were common practice at that time of course man would write about them in the bible. People had a different way of thinking than modern day people and you have to keep that in mind when reading the bible.
