Why would someone, a girl in my case, text message me instead of calling me when she says she will call me when we are meeting? I call her all the time but she never calls me unless its because shes calling me back.

It might be what the above answers are--she can't talk on the phone while around certain people, ie, her boss or coworkers. Or it could just be that she doesn't want to get stuck in an awkward phone conversation that drags on, especially when she only has something quick to say to you. I am like that--I hate getting stuck with the formalities: "Hi, how are you? Oh, I'm fine. So are you ready for lunch? Ok great, well, I'll see you there. Take care, buh-bye." That takes longer than texting, and can sometimes run even longer, so why waste the time. Just don't take it personally, she's just trying to be quick with her communication, that's all.

Some people don't like talking on the phone; they feel insecure, they don't have anything to say, and they're easily distracted. Text messages are quicker and you don't have a lot of room to write on them.

Maybe she thinks that you're around someone you can't talk freely in front of or that it's easier to send a quick text saying "I'll be there soon..."/Ect.

If you have an issue with it, tell her.
