Its not 'people' who think it is god inspired. It is Mormons. And Mormons only.

Joseph Smith was not the author but rather the translator of an ancient holy text.
The Bible is true because it was written by prophets, chosen and inspired by God, and is an account of their history, revelations, teachings, and spiritual matters.....in the Old world.
The Book of Mormon is the exact same thing, but it takes place in the Americas.
Same gospel, same Christ, same teachings. They work hand in hand to testify and teach the truth.
Mormons encourage everyone to read it an then humbly, sincerely, and with faith ask God if it is true.
Ask and ye shall receive.
I did this and I received an answer from God.

Well first of all it is not Joseph Smiths book. It is just like the bible. The Book Of Mormon was written by prophets about Jesus coming to the Americas( which he did) and it is about how he will come again. In the bible it talks baout people being visited by God and no one has a hard time believing that. The same thing happened to Joseph Smith. and he was told where he could find the books. So he didn't write it, he translated it by Gods will and his help. Joseph Smith was just the mediator, not the author.

The Book of Mormon is not Joseph Smith's book. He did not write it, nor could he have based only on a third-grade education at the age of 19. He translated it from ancient Reformed Egyptian into English; all within a three-month period.
There is no way a country boy with little education could have written such a masterpiece unless he was inspired of God. And he was inspired of God, called as the first prophet in the last dispensation of the fullness of times.

In the Mormon religion they learn the Holy Spirit is a burning in their bosom. And they go by this & it somehow confirms the Mormon book is the Word of God too.
The problem is that the Holy Spirit of the Holy Bible is a different Spirit than the Mormon one. And the Holy Spirit of the Holy Bible confirms the Holy Bible true & the Mormon book false to all Christians who ask God who are born again in a Christian Church.
So? They consider the Mormon Book God inspired because of the familiar spirits of their Cult. Because they deny the power of salvation that was accomplished & is paid for by Jesus redeeming blood. Eternal life is the gift of God through faith in Jesus. It is grace & not works lest anyone boast. And the Holy Spirit is One Spirit & won't give a different story in another book. The Father, the Word & the Holy Spirit bear witness in Heaven. And these three are One. Meaning they don't disagree or contradict the original Gospel in the Holy Bible.
Also in the Mormon book there is biblical scripture copied word for word in it. So? From the King James? Why would it be worded word for word? And also similar writing style of another popular novel of the time. When Joseph translated the Golden tablets, words apeared from through the seer stone that made the words. I personally think it wasn't golden tablets but the bible & this other novel he put behind the seer stone & copied what he could see.

Because they haven't stopped to analyse it. It's full of strange things. It was supposedly written by someone in the ancient Inca or Aztec civilization, and yet they had Horses??? (The Spaniards took the first horses to the New World in the 16th century.)
No one is allowed to see the original book because "God took it away" or because the hill it was buried in has been "sealed." Therefore one doubts the existence of said book.
I was taught to believe Smith's poorly written novel was God-inspired, but could never actually accept it on the same level as the Bible. I think the only people who can claim to consider it inspired either haven't thought about it, or just really, really want to believe it.

Yes, millions do. I do too. If you ask people who vehemently denounce it, most often they have not read it. They have not prayed about it. You have to wonder how they obtained such a sure knowledge about whether or not it is true....
On the other hand, in the LDS church, we are encouraged to read it and sincerely pray to know whether or not it is true. I have done this. God answered my prayers and I know without a doubt that the Book of Mormon is true. Ultimately that is the only way to ever know whether or not a book is "God-inspired".

I consider it inspired because I have read it and found Truth in it. It teaches about Jesus Christ, so before any trolls declare it to be satanic, they ought to consider the fact that even the Bible does not mention the sacred nature of our Lord and Savior as frequntly as the Book of Mormon.
It has within it amazing guidance for living happily, it teaches the principles of joy and the fundamentals of law. It also contians within it much philosophy about the purpose of law and righteousness and our own existence.
Most of all, I consider it inspired because I have prayed about the teachings and felt a spiritual witness to try them in my life. When I have acted upon the things that are taught in the Book of Mormon, I have been happier in my own life.

Many today go to churches that preach things that are appealing to the flesh.
Those who preach the Word of God often bring few into the fold since the truth is like a cleansing fire and moves men away from sin.
So many choose to go to a church that is pleasant and makes them feel good about themselves. Yet, their love of sin is greater then their love for God.
As for J.Smith, his is the doctrine of men and it is appealing to the flesh. As for being god inspired, he was not inspired by the God of Creation, but the god of this world.
This statement was started many years ago and still applies to most today. If it feels good, do it. People are more concerned with the flesh then they are the things of God.

Scripture can be considered one of two things: a record of God's dealings with his people, whether ancient Israel or ancient Americans or ancient Asians -- recorded by a prophet of God; and secondly, anything which is uttered by a servant of God while under the inspiration of the Holy Ghost.

Why is the bible God inspired? The answer to that question is the same as the answer to your question.
It isn't "Joseph Smith's book". It's another testament of Christ that Joseph Smith translated.
