Firework is for editing web images and specializes in that only while photoshop can edit all sorts of images.
Firework is the image editing tool of Dreamweaver.
In a way if you have photoshop you don't really need fireworks that much. I've a website and do all my editing of images with photoshop. You get fed up with all these applications that in the end tend to do the same thing.

while u say photoshop.. do you propose Adobe Photoshop? properly adobe photoshop is probably between the final photograph enhancing application attainable to you and that i. Fireworks.. who? choose i say extra?!
