It's the other way around, sister. We DIDN'T evolve for thousands of years, but recently evolution has been documented in laboratory tests. The flu virus evolves every year, and some species of birds have been adapting their migration for global warming.
God didn't design this world to evolve, he designed it to stay exactly the same since inception -- much like my sense of fashion. Evolutionary progress, like all progress, is a result of original sin.
Today you see evolution all around you, just like pornography, liquor, homosexuality, and hardwood floors. It must be stopped.

Jesus who? Where is the proof? The New Testament contradicts the stories of Jesus, but yet there were never any outside sources (like the Romans) who even mentioned this person. Why is that? The Romans were excellent record keepers, but yet nothing about this person. Come on, there is more evidence in a single day of evolution (evolution of viruses and bacteria - unless you do not believe in them either) than for your fake God and his fake son.
And FYI, what makes you think humans stopped evolving? Evolution of any species is from adaption to the environment. That is a constant thing, but we now are putting more conditions that are forcing the evolution. Look at the evolution of the athlete in today's world (non-steroid), due to better food, training, genetics (more athletes having children with other athletes) better faster bigger athletes are being produced. Open your eyes for once and stop trying to keep them closed for fear of the evidence of evolution.

Now that we can manipulate our environment, we don't need to evolve anymore. Why evolve a coat of fur when you can find ways to keep warm?
There is some variety among groups of people that shows adaptation. The people who live in the Andes have a greater lung capacity to deal with the thinner air.

Who says we HAVE stopped evolving??? That's ridiculous. Evolution is an extremely slow process. Changes aren't going to be apparent after only a couple of generations.

Life evolves when there is a need to evolve, usually as result of predation or climate change. Right now our evolution has slowed down because there is no such pressure.

Evolution does occur still though humanity is only in the midst of mild sexual selection while the rest is genetic drift or 'neutral evolution'.
Sometimes I think we're trying to evolve in to something... less.

Human evoloution stunted becasue of advances in medical science. Unlike other species, our weak do survive. Human evoloution has not totally stunted. in 1900 in the average lifespan of a human being was 45, now its 75.
