I'd want the guy with his own place. Spending a ton of money on a car when you don't even have your own place leads me to believe the guy has some responsibility issues!!

His own place, with a not-so-great car.
An adult man living with his parents, especially if he's over 25, isn't just an issue of being "uncool." It says something about the guy's maturity (or lack of it).
The exception would be if his parents are ill and he is caring for them. But for the most part, older guys living at home are not very mature.

A 90's compact vehicle is a turn off, and living with his parents is a turn off. I'd prefer the guy with his own place, but I'd wonder the reason for him keeping such a car. I'd try to convince him to get a newer one, that is more manly.

NO contest... the guy who has the compact vehicle. I dated a mommy's boy once. That was 2 months of my life I'll never get back!

It depends on the reason he's living with his parents. If it's because he's caring for elderly parents or just recently divorce then I might would go out with the one with the new car.
I would never go out with one that lives with his parents for no justifiable reason. That shows a lack of responsibility and maturity. The type of car he drove would make no difference to me if he had admirable qualities.

I think pretty much everyone would rather have a guy who has his own place AND his own car rather than someone who has his own car but living in someone ELSE's house.

The guy who owns his own place! It seems like he's more financially responsible, and the two of you could go there to be alone.

to me it don't matter what he's driving or where he lives. who cares. if that's all a girl cares about she's stupid. he could be driving the crappiest car in the world and live in the basement of his grandma's house as long as he's nice and cares about me.
