Protein shakes are the main supplements you'll need. Make sure that you get plenty of rest too. Your muscles grow stronger (heal) when you rest, not when you lift. You might also want to look into creatine cycles (If you do, make SURE to drink plenty of water). It helps you go through tougher workouts and helps you recover faster as well. But like I said, you have to drink even more water than you usually do if you're gonna take creatine. Some like to take Glutamine as well but it's not 100% sure whether they actually do help recovery or not. I've seen studies that prove it works and some that discredit its effects. Try it for yourself if you want. But Protein is the most important supplement. Peace.

PS: I almost forgot. Eat your fruits and vegetables. They contain your daily doses of vitamins, antioxidants, etc.

whey protein and L-Glutamine taken directly after exercise will help to reduce the effects of DOMS.

10 grams of L-Glutamine in water, wait 10 min then drink the protein shake

* also remember to stretch after training. stretching is most effective after exercise when the muscles, tendons and ligaments are warm and pliable. this will also help to reduce DOMS
