Personally, I believe each belief system is something that is, and should remain, intensely personal to the believer - even if they belong to a mainstream religion, I feel they should be free to interpret that religion in a way which is free to differ from that of those around them. A society which effectively enforces one belief system would be doomed to fail from the start; would such a system really allow differences in opinion about religion to arise?
In the case of a theocracy, religion is inextricably linked with government; the lack of discussion about the religion would mean there would be no permitted discussion (as in, presenting alternate viewpoints) about the way the government works, resulting in a society which would not be allowed to progress. Such a system would grow stagnant while other societies that embraced differences would foster new ideas and would improve their systems of government to quickly overtake the theocracy.

Yes. When Messiah comes, He will set up a Theocracy with its base in Jerusalem. Hebrew will be the new International Language.

A theocracy by definition excludes certain members of society from it's process. So it would not be a good idea

No it would not be a good idea. Look at history...humanity has been there, done that, and we have a history of wars, persecution, and violence to show for it. The Founding Fathers of the USA had the right idea...keep the church, ANY church, out of the government.

hard question...
if we were perfect Christians...sure a Christian Theocracy
would be great...
but were not perfect Christians so for sure and for certain it would get all screwed up...
the seperation of church and state is not anywhere in
the constitution so it doesn't really exsist...and the way
its practiced also violated the "free exerisce" of relgion
on a personal basis...as stated in the first ammendment
of the constitution.
so moral of the story...no one wins...
