If you honestly felt that you could not deal with the lack of proof and poor evidence provided, and if you still felt that God wanted you to pursue the path of unbelief-would you?
Would you turn away from God if you felt that was His will?
If God wanted a world with Atheists in it and he need you to be among their number, could you honestly embrace Atheism?
Or would you defy God's WIll?

That is an interesting argument.

Everynow and then someone will ask why does god allow bad things to happen, such as all of the deaths during WWII. One answer that I have heard many times is that "It is all part of god's plan". Interesting. If it is all part of a plan, then aren't the bad people (such as Hitler) just helping god out with his plan? Does that mean that Hitler was just a tool of god? If it is part of his plan and Hitler did not go about with his evil doings, then Hitler would be working against god by not being evil. Boy, that is a catch-22.

So, the idea of god wanting there to be atheists in the world being part of his plan is not outlandish. That means, that if no one wanted to be an atheist, then people would be violating god's will.

I guess it all boils down to, does god have a plan or not. If he does, then sometimes people are forced to participate in acts that would appear to be contrary to god. If not, then it is all a random crapshoot and god has no real power.

Why do people come on here constantly insulting christians and religious folk alike with these asinine questions? Why in the world would God ask you to be an atheist, when he said in his word that 'all unbelievers will have their part in the lake which burns with fire and sulfer'? (Revelation 21:8) You spoke of embracing atheism or defying God's will. Well friend, you won't know his will unless you read it for yourself in the Bible. So if some being comes down and spouts some rediculous garbage about me becoming an atheist and claiming he's God, I know he is a lying spirit because those words contradict what God said in his word. The Bible says to 'test the spirits' (1John 4:1). God doesn't want a world of atheists. Satan wants a world of atheists. Satan doesn't even want people to know HE exists. I feel sorry for all the gullible who will answer you along the lines of 'well, like, if that's what God wants, then sure, sign me up for atheist academy.' By the way, that is the best trick question I have come across since the 'God creating something He can't destroy' one.

To set the record straight,
Faith does not require proof, that's what makes it Faith.
So you can have Faith that there is a God, but feel pushed in the direction of Atheism by the lack of proof and poor evidence.
And if you feel that is his Will, you should not defy it. You should embrace unbelief.
This is not altogether unreasonable (He works in mysterious ways remember). There are many abuses of Faith right now. All Faiths. The strongest voices against these abuses are Atheists.
People of Faith stand idly by for years while monsters like Fred Phelps use God to scare people for their own agenda.
Atheists have been VERY active in opposing this pig.
And that's just one example of how Faith takes a wrong turn.
God may indeed want and need you to be an Atheist.

"If you honestly felt that you could not deal with the lack of proof and poor evidence provided, and if you still felt that God wanted you to [...]"

That would make one a theist. An atheist would not feel "god" wanted anything as there is no god.

first of all a true Atheists has no God.that is why they are Atheists.Atheists are people who think life is just this one to live then you die that it no after life of any kind.so if you believe in God in any way you can never be a true Atheists.but let just look at what you just asked.well I don't think God want you to be a Atheists.because he is the one who said.that anyone who says there is no God is a fool.anyone that says they are wise and says there is no God is a fool.I don't try to push God on anyone but I do tell people about God and if they want to know more I talk to them about God. but if they say don't go there I just leave it up to God.I have friends that are Atheists.we don't talk about God but I show them God's love that's all I can do I let God do the rest

God never wants you to be an Atheist= because He loves you so much , He desires a personal relationship with you, through Christ- however He does say, as in Romans 1- "He gave them over to unbelief" why- because He does not want to force you to love Him back-

I dont think God cares if I go to church every week to see how humanity has butchered the mass as they do everything in this world including the world. I cant go there and listen to a gay preacher who says hes a preist and is so full of his own ego he thinks everyone is there to see him because hes so wise and ppl recieve communion without having been to confession since they made their first holy communion. And noone even kneels anymore?!?! WTF? Seriously I would love to just scream in there sometime, but they would all look at me like im crazy...

Sort of makes me wish I could be athiest.

Sorry though, I still get grace from God time to time and comfort in my prayer so I believe.

Wow! What a twisted mess! If I knew that there was a God and he didn't want me to believe in him, then I guess I would be on the "horns of a dilemna", wouldn't you agree?

Needless to say the reasoning of this question is somewhat self-effacing--like the statement that says "this statement is false." An utter impossibility.

That's completely contradictory. The word means without theism. It isn't a belief system to embrace or an organized group to join so much of the question is meaningless.

If you believe you're not an atheist if you don't believe you are an atheist regardless of what you want to call yourself.

no. If you felt God wanted you to become an Atheist, it would probably be one of two things.
God perhaps testing your heart
or
Satan enticing you.
Think hard about your decision and pray for guidance.
In the end the choice is yours alone and no one else can be judged for your decisions in the end.
