It's Tuesday, and I did resistance on Sunday. I'm still sore from Sunday. Is it OK for me to do resistance today anyways?

If it makes any difference, I did my cardio Monday.

Thanks.

For 1/2 year I did boxer conditionning and now I'm trying to do what I've learnt at home. Most of it is circuit type stuff by calisthetic means (if that's how you spell it). So I pretty much do a full body workout 3 days a week with 3 days of cardio... just an FYI.

lv --- how should I do that seeing that my workout is all using my own body weight -- as in, pushups, crunches, lunges, squats and calf raises?

You should be spreading out your muscle groups in a way where you are only working the particular muscle once a week.(I have a pretty intense quad workout and when I work them they hurt for up to 3 days sometimes) Sometimes I will work through soreness, basically soreness in your muscles is latic acid build up. I would advice if your muscles feel hurt or strained not to work them till they feel better.

This is my workout split
Mon - Chest, Calves
Tue - Biceps, Triceps, Forearms, Hamstrings
Wed - Off Or cardio
Thur - Back - Shoulders - Abs
Fri - Off or Cardio
Sat - Quads - 15 Min of cardio
Sun - Off - Abs at home.

yes...if you are training different body parts just use your normal working loads when training. if you are training the same body part(s) today as you did on sunday then you need to use 50% less weight. this way you are still exercising the muscles but not causing anymore microtrauma to skeletal muscle, this is known as active-recovery.

if your sore i wouldnt advise you to do resistance training as you could cause yourself an overuse injury and this will mean you could be out for even longer. id have a break as you dont want to risk it. Your muscles also need to recover to develop more. i have heard that eating a banana can dely cramp and can actually help to recover the muscles quiker

Yes. Just make sure you stretch a lot before working any muscle group. That's what happens when your muscles are in growth mode....plus it sounds like you haven't been working out for long. The soreness will go away.
