There was a crier outside of the university a few days ago, asking everyone who passed by if they were saved.

I replied, "From stupidity? No, but I keep hoping that every time I come by this place you'll be asking if I need financial aid, moral support, freedom from abuse, or something I might actually need. Every time you disappoint me."

It was this Saturday at my cousin's funeral service. I think the idea was to use the emotion of the moment to make people think that being a Christian would enable a person to see my cousin again at some unspecified later date. At the request to join in the "sinner's prayer", I stood mute.

Usually if someone asks me if I'm saved, I'll just look at them, and get real big eyes and say..."oh man, it was close, but I got through just by a whisker!" The usual response is a yell back as I'm walking away "I'm going to pray for you" or "You are going to hell sinner"

Yes I am saved by the blood of Jesus Christ, born again in Him- for I believe He is Lord and have given my life to Him- repented of sin and desire to follow Him. He has forgiven me of my sin, past, present and future and has given me eternal life in Him. He died on the cross then rose again, so that we who believe would be saved from hell and sin....given eternal life in Him in Heaven after this life-- and while here in this life we are given His Holy Spirit to teach us and guide us into all truth, to keep us walking close with Him.....and we want to tell the world about His wonderful salvation!
John 14:6 says He is the way truth and life!

I answer, "Yes." then ask them if they have been saved too from a belief in a God that essentially created a whole mess of things where BILLIONS of human souls are doomed and only a few are saved.

Yes I am saved and I thank God for his Mercy , Grace and Favor. I could be a dead man walking around this earth not knowing who God is. I thank God for giving me the choice to serve Him. I rather be on a winning team then on a losing team.

As a catholic salvation is ours to lose. We have all been redeemed but salvation is another matter in which we hope for. It would be presumptuous of me to assume that I am saved, only when I reach that final destination will I know for sure
