if i told you i've never sinned in my life would you believe me? why or why not? do you assume it's impossible? wouldn't that take away from the idea that we have free will? if god made us such that it is impossible for us not to sin, how can you say he gave us free will?

That's why God sent his son, who was also himself, to be sacrificed to himself to attone for the sins that were inevitable in his creation.

I would not believe you if you told me you never sinned - it is impossible not to sin. We all are born into this world with a sinful nature. Ever since man's fall in the garden of Eden, man has sinned. The only way a person will be sinless is when he/she goes to heaven, provided they are a true, born again Christian, having confessed his/her sins to God and professed Christ as their Lord and Savior. When a born again Christian passes out of this life and enters into the kingdom of heaven, it is then that we are made perfect, having no sinful nature. We all sin - every day of the week. Because of the sinful nature we all possess, we cannot stop ourselves from sinning - impossible.

Of course I would believe you - "sin" is a made up concept. It's not a real thing, so you can't do it :)
But from a christian's stand point, I guess it would be impossible not to sin. In their little rule book, even certain thoughts are considered sins, so I think we would all be "guilty".

It is a human nature to sin.

I would not believe that claim. You would have lied or lived in denial. Sin is serious, Jesus died for it...but that is so that we do not have to be separated from God because our sins.

Free will is great, He knows it is better to have a choice. He forgives. We need to ask forgiveness. But of course He cannot help us to clean us from our sins if we do not admit we are sinning.

Because the Word of God says "all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." The Bible does not lie. You are a sinner until you are saved by grace and washed in the blood of Jesus. Jesus washes our sins away.

I believe it is impossible not to sin. No matter how hard you try....there are going to be things you're incapable of doing.

Christians jump thru so many hoops in attempts to stay holy but they don't realize that some of those inactions require denying natural urges....

I don't think it's right to deny ourselves our animal side just because someone else tells us that if we don't we'll be punished.....

For example....I don't believe in "turn the other cheek", I don't believe in "celibacy before marriage", I don't believe in "sex strictly for procreation"...

Each of those acts are a denial of things we're born with....the desire to defend ourselves, the desire to have sex, the desire to have sex for pleasure.

Denying yourself those urges...is just going against everything we are.....

And just out of curiosity, how many people have never had an unclean thought? Why should we "beg for forgiveness" from an invisible sky pixie when this is a natural occurance for just about everybody on the planet????

Is it possible not to sin...yes, but not likely. A childhood unlike most...fully knowledgable about what is right and wrong before ever doing it.

Is it possible to cease sinning and not sin from that point on...yes...and much more likely.

Well...you have free will when your a baby, right? Nobody forces you to cry. You just do, because your hungry or you ant attention or whatever. But isn't that a sin? It's not exactly honoring your father and mother, is it? You have no concept or right and wrong, so God forgives you for it, but it's still a sin.
