Think of these "keys" as spokes on a wheel. You need ALL of them...
* First and foremost, repent of your sins, turn to the Lord, and be renewed ("born again"), in His Spirit. -- John 3: 3
* Study the bible, always; even when you don't feel like it! The desire will come!
* Pray always, even when you do not feel like it! The desire will come!
* Meditate on what He inspires in you, stay in fellowship with the believers
* "Do not forsake the assembling of yourself in church" (Hebrews 10: 25); even when you don't feel like it! The desire will come!
* "The Body of Christ" is the ONE universal church, with Jesus as it's head!
* Love others, as yourself, including those outside the body of Christs, , even when you don't feel like it! The LOVE will come!
* Pray for them to see the light,
* And "shine your light before men", so that they WILL see, even if they are not already focused on God!
* And DO ALL those things. Don't pick a la carte!
You need ALL of these KEYS to have a well rounded Christian walk! Just like you need all the spokes to keep your wheel from going flat on one side.
Example: If you study, without prayer, you may miss the Spirit's leading you to greater understanding.
If you pray without bible study, you may get lost in odd ideas, as the "cults" do!
If you evangelize, without the other keys, you may do more harm than good, as foolish Christians often do!

The description that we become a new creation appears to apply to the human spirit being taken over by the Holy Spirit. This then gets to work on the soul (mind, emotions and will). It is only by the power of the Holy Spirit that God enables sanctification which can be quick or slow, but inevitable.

Can I share a VERY recent study?
One key is our need to be humble. Humility effects our decision making, the way we live the action of loving others, helping those in need, it guides our motives etc.
Numbers 12:3 (Moses was a humble man, more humble than anyone else on earth.)
Psalm 25:8-10 Because the LORD is righteous and good, He teaches sinners the path they should follow. He leads the humble in the right way and teaches them his will. With faithfulness and love He leads all who keep His covenant and obey His commands.
Psalm 147:5-6 Great and mighty is our Lord; His wisdom cannot be measured. He raises the humble, but crushes the wicked to the ground.
Psalm 149:4 The LORD takes pleasure in His people; He honors the humble with victory.
Proverbs 13:1 Wise children pay attention when their parents correct them, but arrogant people never admit they are wrong.
Proverbs 16:5 The LORD hates everyone who is arrogant; He will never let them escape punishment.
Proverbs 18:12 No one is respected unless He is humble; arrogant people are on the way to ruin.
Proverbs 21:4 Evil people are proud and arrogant, but sin is the only crop they produce.
Proverbs 21:24 Show me a conceited person and I will show you someone who is arrogant, proud, and inconsiderate.
Isaiah 29:19 Poor and humble people will once again find the happiness which the LORD, the holy God of Israel, gives.
Matthew 5:5 God blesses those people who are humble. The earth will belong to them!
Matthew 19:30 But many who now are first will be last, and many who now are last will be first.
John 13:13-17 "You call me Teacher and Lord, and it is right that you do so, because that is what I am. I, your Lord and Teacher, have just washed your feet. You, then, should wash one another's feet. I have set an example for you, so that you will do just what I have done for you. I am telling you the truth: no slaves are greater than their master, and no messengers are greater than the one who sent them. Now that you know this truth, how happy you will be if you put it into practice!
Romans 12:16 Have the same concern for everyone. Do not be proud, but accept humble duties. (Menial labor.) Do not think of yourselves as wise.
Galatians 5:22-23 But the Spirit produces love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, HUMILITY, and self-control. There is no law against such things as these.
Ephesians 4:2 Be always humble, gentle, and patient. Show your love by being tolerant with one another.
Philippians 2:3 Don't do anything from selfish ambition or from a cheap desire to boast, but be humble toward one another, always considering OTHERS to be better than yourselves.
Colossians 3:12 You are the people of God; he loved you and chose you for his own. So then, you must clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.
2nd Timothy 2:24-25 As the Lord's servant, you must not quarrel. You must be kind toward all, a good and patient teacher, who is gentle as you correct your opponents, for it may be that God will give them the opportunity to repent and come to know the truth.
James 3:13-16 Are there any of you who are wise and understanding? You are to prove it by your good life, by your good deeds performed with humility and wisdom....But if in your heart you are jealous, bitter, and selfish, don't sin against the truth by boasting of your wisdom. Such wisdom does not come down from heaven; it belongs to the world, it is unspiritual and demonic. Where there is jealousy and selfishness, there is also disorder and every kind of evil.
James 4:10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and He will lift you up.
Peace.

Yes the Holy Spirit is part of the corner stone .
Our faith is built on the Hebrew Prophets , the Apostles of Jesus Christ and Jesus Himself being the corner stone of that foundation as expressed in his Holy word the Bible....
Ephesians 2:20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
Matthew 21:42 Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?
God bless you Sandy, have a good and Godly day!!!

Daily prayer, getting into the word, praise and worship.
I didn't realize how much it would change my relationship with Jesus until I began doing it daily. Our relationship blossoms and grows when we spend time together.
Christianity isn't a religion per se. It's a lifestyle, something you live daily...not just on Sundays.
There's a reason Paul tells us to pray without ceasing. We need to edify our spirits with God as much as possible. We live in a world full of trouble. We need to draw nearer to the Lord to make it through the day and keep our sanity!
Hope that helps!
In His Service,
SLJ

I share that key belief....its the HS that seals our salvation day by day so that we dont forget our face and return to that natural man.
So; the indwelling (baptism) of the Holy Spirit, a hunger and thirst for Righteousness, a deaf ear to my flesh and a heart yielded in obedience to fast and pray.

For me it is prayer. If I go a morning without talking to God then i feel empty and lost the rest of the day until I set asdie that time for Him.
Also reading the Bible. I feel closer to God when I read from His word. It is one way that He speaks to us
Fellowship is important too I think. It is encourageing to see others working through their struggles by Gods grace.

What I have discovered lately...and am coming to know, is the key to my relationship with God..is all about just being real.
Just being real with him. He will take you to greater heights in him...and help you to understand a deeper knowledge of him, if you are just real with him.
Thanks for this question

The key for me is knowing Y'shua (Jesus) is the Son of God, that He came to the earth even though He created the earth, and He gave His life for us, because He loves us.
