He's thinking about you, isn't that enough? He's not sending the message to start a TM conversation (which is what it would likely turn into). Why get upset that he doesn't reply back? MANY people would love it if their sweetie took the initiative to send the first message...just to know someone you dig has you on their mind.
Let it go...

Hmmm... all of the other posters have interesting ideas about this. Why not take it one step further?
He's texting you, which is obviously a sign of interest. However, the problem is that he doesn't respond to YOUR questions. Therefore, when he texts you next time, why not keep things short and just say "good morning" back in a simple, brief reply without asking him another question. Let him keep asking the questions, but just provide simple short answers. Let him pry. That way, you might have some measure of how interested he really is. If he doesn't follow through with another question, well, then he's either not really interested in you, OR he's simply too boring of a conversationalist to pursue as a boyfriend (in my opinion).
Or, you could just bluntly ask him if the text messages mean he's interested in you. Bluntness can get you answers quickly.

He's totally playing games.. I had a guy do that... he would call at work and say hi and chat and text me, but never ask me out? it was weird... I finally figured out that he was dating someone else. so in my opinion, just ignore this guy and DON'T text him back anymore. it's not fair to you!
