She has a terrible cough. And she does not like the bulb syringe. When I use it, I bring up a lot of mucas.

My pediatrician recommended 1 cup warm water and a teaspoon of salt, dissolved and put 2-3 drops in each nostril.

Use the bulb syringe. It works the best. Also use some saline like Little Noses so the mucas isnt so thick.

try to use the syringe in the baby's nose when she is sleeping. Either way the mucas has to eventually come out. It could be a viral infection and you may need a doctor to prescribe some medicine to fight it.

Sorry to hear your baby is sick. Since so many OTC things have been pulled I will tell you my familys old home remedies

Vicks vapo rub to her back and chest covered with a shirt will open up her sinuses and allow her to sleep best.
Warm saline drops in her noses will unclog a stuffy nose
ground ginger mixed with vasoline rubbed on a chest will soothe a cough
taking her into a steamy bathroom will also open her up.

if all else fails take her to the doctor.

The bulb is best, it might take two people. It took my dughter until now and she is two to get used to it. Now she thinks it's funny because it tickles. But I get Childrens Tylonal for cough and runny nose, it it helps dry it out and prevents her from getting an infection in the sinuses or ears.

I would just use the syringe. I understand kids don't like it my son never did. But do you really want to give your child unnecessary medication? Think about that for a minute and make your decision.

Benadryl (guaifenesen only) will loosen the mucus and allow it to flow more freely. This is a big help with a cough.
The idea of putting a little salt water into the nostrils is also good; I often use it myself, but I haven't tried it with a young child.
