myb you need more money to spend on your wedding day,you can do a small ceremony and this use less money but pls..if you love her, save money and make the wedding day as big as possible because all girls want their wedding to be a really speacial day.if your salary/the money you make is enough for the food/house/transportation for two and extra money to save in the bank, means you can get married.you just need more money for the wedding day.save money from now.be patient, and wait for a couple months until you get enough.please, don't just think about yourself, think about your future wife.by the way,i don't think this has anything to do with religion.

If you dont want a big religious ceremony and a reception, then you can go to a judge or justice of the peace or even a minister and be married in a small ceremony. It will only cost you for the officiant and the license. You can have your immediate family there and then go out to a nice dinner afterward to celebrate.

Your first answerer is correct about going to the courthouse if you live in the US. If not, why not have a simple ceremony at her family's home? That would save a lot of money and you can include whatever aspects of faith you wish.

If you have a reception, perhaps you can keep that at home as well and ask everyone to bring food as their gift to you.

best wishes
